Welcome back to our weekly blog series, Après Affection. Here, we round up our favorite treats for post-mountain sessions all around Park City. Whether it is thirst-quenching cocktails, or sweet and savory treats, our friends all around town share with us their recipes and favorite après ski bites.
PARK CITY MOUNTAIN
Head after a day in town or on the mountain to the base of Park City Mountain Resort to check out Legends Bar & Grill. It is a unique elevated après experience, and thanks to Executive Chef Jared Hendrick and his team, they provide an excellent and unique menu paired with creative cocktails. They describe themselves as an upscale gastropub and we think that’s spot on, along with stellar service too.
What we love:
They’re known for their delicious crispy skin Cornish game hen. We also think their garlic-ginger glazed crispy cauliflower with thai basil, green onion, and celery leaf salad is out of this world. And you can’t not try their seared ahi nachos: sesame crusted ahi tuna with mango salsa and wasabi crème served with asian slaw & crispy asian spiced wontons. Pair with the legendary bloody Mary: Tito’s handmade vodka, Absolut peppar, and celery bitters mixed with homemade blended Mary mix.
If you have skied Deer Valley Resort, chances are you have visited their mid-mountain Silver Lake Village. Tucked perfectly in the village is their famous Royal Street Cafe that has been feeding hungry skiers for many years. They have a beautiful view of the mountain, and they offer a creative American and international casual cuisine in a contemporary lodge setting. If you need a few after your delicious meal before hitting the slopes again, we suggest relaxing in a lounge chair on “the beach” right out front!
What we love:
This place is known for their blueberry mojito, so we definitely suggest quenching your thirst when you arrive with this tasty cocktail. There are so many staples and favorites to choose from, but we love the RSC halibut n’ chips with wild Alaskan halibut, remoulade sauce, coleslaw, and RSC herb~parmesan shoestring fries. Their fresh Dungeness crab tower with avocado, tomato, pea sprouts, crispy spiced wontons, and sauces of wasabi, soy and sweet chile, is a great way to start the meal or enjoy as a main.
New to the Main Street scene this year is Altitude. They are quickly gaining popularity for their mountain comfort food and BBQ fare. On top of all of that, they have a beautiful ambiance and an awesome bar scene. So we think that makes them a great option for post ski. They have some great daily specials to choose from too! We love that Executive Chef Chris Griffin’s made choosing sustainable produce and meats, as well as supporting local vendors, his priority.

Wednesday: Whiskey Wednesday, special priced popular whiskeys

What we love:
Their brisket patty melt with brisket burger, swiss cheese, caramelized onions, beer mustard, and marble rye is hard to beat. Their pork sliders with a cold cocktail is amazing too!
Conveniently located in the Canyons Village at Park City Mountain, Murdock’s is a family friendly spot that offers a cozy communal setting along with fast and fresh dining for guests looking for a relaxed après ski experience. From coffees and cocoas to wine and beer in the afternoons, Murdock’s focuses on crowd pleasing favorites including specialty pizzas, salads and sandwiches. It is now the only spot to get fresh pizza in the Canyons Village and kids will love the specialty cocoa bar after a day on the slopes.
What we love:
Both kids and adults will enjoy the specialty cocoa bar for a fun twist on après ski! Their pizzas are killer and they also serve wine and beer for the parents to enjoy.
We were excited, to say the least, when Chef/Owner Adam Ross, formerly of Bistro 412, decided to open his new spot in town. It is conveniently located in the Snow Creek Plaza and offers a beautiful contemporary vibe with delicious food to boot. On top of that, they have a full bar that you can get cozy at too! Their message of honoring the roots of their ingredients and infusing it with a twist of creativity in a New American atmosphere is just what Park City needed.
What we love:
Try their confit wings to start and you won’t be disappointed. We also love their open faced shorty melt: braised short rib, rye bread, Gruyère cheese, garlic pickles, 1000 Island dressing, apple-bacon sauerkraut, and fried egg. Also delicious is their Carolina pork sandwich: slow cooked pork, mustard vinegar, garlic pickles, shaved Brussels, and a hoagie roll.
