Après Affection- Across Park City

Welcome back to our weekly blog series, Après Affection. Here, we round up our favorite treats for post-mountain sessions all around Park City. Whether it is thirst-quenching cocktails, or sweet and savory treats, our friends all around town share with us their recipes and favorite après ski bites.

PARK CITY MOUNTAIN

Baja Cantina

This is a Park City staple, and a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The owners of this classic establishment have been proudly serving their original California-Mexican cuisine to Park City since 1983.  After a full day hitting the slopes at Park City Mountain, you can literally ski right into an awesome Mexican vibe. The location is versatile for everyone. With a stellar bar and TV area, to their big dining room to take the whole family, or bask in the sun out on the patio.

What we love-
Their fish tacos are killer, and you can’t go wrong with any of their enchiladas, we especially love the enchilada del mar with succulent crab and shrimp, topped with a lobster cream sauce and jalapeno jack cheese. They are a perfect complement to our other favorite, their Mexican mojito- 1800 Silver, Grand Marnier, fresh mint, lime, agave nectar, sour and soda.

When- Daily at 11:30 a.m.

DEER VALLEY

Brass Tag

Nothing beats a day on perfectly groomed trails at Deer Valley Resort. Lots of folks may think that the Deer Valley experience can only be finished at one of the fancy luxe après hotel bars, but we have a favorite alternative spot for you. Tucked away in The Lodges at the base of Deer Valley Resort is the Brass Tag, this cozy and casual spot is the perfect place to take a load off. With an expansive dining room and a full bar with TVs, you are sure to find somewhere to kick back.

What we love-
This place is known for their wood-fired pizzas, and there is a reason for it. We absolutely love the local Creminelli calabrese sausage pizza with house-made mozzarella, Strong Vertical Farms mustard greens, housemade peperonata and pomodoro sauce. A trip to Brass Tag also isn’t complete without their famous oven fired chimichurri chips with applewood bacon and local Gold Creek Farms white cheddar.

Top that all off with some expertly concocted cocktails using stellar local spirits. Like the Alida with Antelope Island Silver Rum and Alpine Distilling Preserve Liquer, or the Sultan with High West “Campfire” whiskey and local Utah honey!

When- Daily at 3 p.m.

MAIN STREET

The Spur

We are pretty in love with the new gigs the Spur brought us last year. Now, not only is there the classic Spur experience, but the two-story beautiful bar with an awesome roof top deck offers one of the best views of Main Street. This place rocks it from 10 to 1 a.m. daily with some of the best bites and drinks around. On top of all of that, they are now serving their very own Spur whiskey. So after skiing or shuttling onto Main Street, you can head right to Spur to grab a bite, watch the game, and hopefully stick around for their live music they offer every night. Hosting some of the best acts around with local, regional and national music of every kind of genre.

What we love-
Locals love their $5 burgers and $5 buffalo wings offered daily until 6 p.m., and on Tuesdays they have $3 tacos from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. We think it’s pretty rad they offer breakfast all day long, especially for some après action. One of our favorites is the Jazz Hands- with fried chicken, a Belgian waffle, mozzarella, provolone, and Spur whiskey cream cheese spread. You also should try their popular poke tostadas with ahi tuna and wonton chips. And you definitely shouldn’t leave without trying one of their cocktails mixed with their special Spur Whiskey, including the Bootlegging that is finished with carpano antica vermouth, orange bitters, and amarena cherry.

When- Daily at 10 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Where- 352 Main Street
The Spur

CANYONS VILLAGE

Drafts Burger Bar

This Canyons Village staple is an absolute must for us when skiing Park City Mountain. This sports bar and grill has the perfect fun vibe after hitting it hard on the mountain. They have won Best of State for the last five years running for American Pub and Gourmet Burger, and once you taste it you’ll know why. They proudly serve more than 50 beers from around the world, including 20 beers on tap.

What we love-
They’ve obviously got the burger game on lock, but a visit to Drafts also wouldn’t be complete for us without their gourmet jumbo wings. If you think you can handle it, you’ve got to try the Queen of Versailles Habanero Fire Sauce.  Wash it all down with one of their delicious beers from their expansive collection or try an over the top custom shake rimmed with chocolate and stuffed with fried Twinkies, cookies, doughnuts, Pop Tarts and more.

When- Daily at 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Where- Canyons Village base – 3000 Canyons Resort Drive

UNEXPECTED APRES

Timbers Bar & Patio

There is an awesome new après gig in town, and it is perfectly located at the Marriott in Prospector Village. Not only is its location centrally located to both ski resorts, but it also has the perfect vibe to unwind after a day out on the hill. The newly renovated Marriott offers a bright, modern mountain vibe interior with a beautiful outdoor fire pit area to compliment the indoor.  We suggest you try something different and head off mountain to this great escape.

What we love-
Try their chicken pesto flatbread with basil pesto, feta and mozzarella with sweet balsamic drizzle. Also ask the bartender to whip you up something refreshing from their full bar!

When- Daily at 4 to 11 p.m.
Where- 1895 Sidewinder Drive
Timbers Bar
