Atticus Tea and Coffee Warms the Soul

Atticus DrinkAtticus Coffee, Books and Teahouse is named after Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird,” but also ironically in Latin means classic, and elegant. I’d give Atticus Coffee, Books and Teahouse a thumbs up with the parallel there. Located on Main Street, Atticus is a perfect place to warm up, get a snack, read a book, buy a gift, catch up with friends, or just decompress after a day at the office, shopping or on the slopes.

Atticus Tea MenuTheir hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Sunday. Locals and tourists come in by the handful to enjoy a variety of loose teas and coffee. Smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and salads are also available for the hangry, or to prevent the hangries in the world. Atticus shows appreciation to the locals by giving them 10 percent off drinks and a punch on your punch card, so after 10 drinks you get a free one. They also have drink specials — Mondays are Matcha Mondays — $1 off anything with matcha; Tuesdays, $2 tea, and Wednesdays you get double punches. Oh, and on a powder day, don’t be surprised when you walk in and are handed a FREE 8 ounce First Chair (coconut crème latte) if it’s snowed more than 8 inches —I’ll tell you what, these people are solid.

More behind Atticus: not only are they an amazing, healthy option for eating and drinking, but they are BIG on giving back. They donate a portion of each sale to a local nonprofit organization. They also accept used books for cash back or store credit. As we all know, it’s easy to keep your read books at home, collecting dust, so this is a way better option (and incentive) of sharing used books with others. These guys know how to make a difference not only in our belly, but in other people’s lives — and for that, we are exceptionally proud that they are our local coffee, book and teahouse.
