There are so many benefits of Champagne. Did you know Champagne has less calories than red or white wine and beer? Did you know that it is perfectly fine to drink Champagne on a Wednesday? Armed with this shocking information, we headed over to Montage Deer Valley and enter the Veuve Clicquot Yurt, nestled in the snow for the ultimate aprés experience.
For three ski seasons, Montage Deer Valley has been lifting the aprés spirits on the slopes of Deer Valley, at the bottom of Ruby and Empire lifts, with their small bites created by executive chef Christian Ojeda and paired with Veuve Clicquot Champagnes and Champagne cocktails.
This year celebrates the 200th anniversary of Madame Clicquot inventing Rosé d’assemblage. To celebrate, the Après Lounge is introducing #RoseApres showcasing Clicquot’s Rosé labels paired with Tsar Nicoulai caviar. For over 30 years, Tsar Nicoulai Caviar has sustainably cultivated wold-renowned caviar from 100% American White Sturgeon.
We chose to pair our bubbly with the trio of popcorn. Yes, popcorn, one of my favorite snacks. Lightly flavored with black truffle, Korean chili-lime and butter sea salt added the savory to our sweet rosé.
Thinking we would get out of the Aprés Lounge with a belly full of bubbles, we were stopped in our tracks by the offering of house-made BBQ chips and caramelized sweet onion dip. Never one to say no to chips, we dipped in. These savory bites are perfectly seasoned, not too heavy on the BBQ, and the sweet onion dip was a perfect pair to cool us down in front of the fire.
Honestly, not an experience to miss, the Aprés Lounge at Montage Deer Valley will be open through the end of the ski season. The last day to experience bubbly bliss will be Sunday, April 8th. The Yurt is open for aprés daily from 12-4 p.m.
