While there’s no pretending that I’ve visited The Carlyle lately, its timeless elegance made its way into my kitchen in the form of a punch. Well, maybe only the Bemelmans Bar made an appearance.
I made a batch of one of the most famous cocktails at the bar, The Carlyle Punch. This punch was created by Luis Serrano, the longest-serving bartender at Bemelmans, and it is the only cocktail that is batched at the bar.
While I also want to pretend that I received this cocktail recipe from Mr. Seraanco himself – I did not. But my friend Micaela English from Town & Country did. She may be a bit more fancy than me but this punch is one of the fanciest you can make, so lets all go ahead and be fancy this New Year’s Eve!
Ingredients
- 1 ounce Southern Comfort
- 1 1/2 ounces raspberry vodka
- 1 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce St. Germain
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 1 to 3 dashes of Bitters
- Splash of Champagne
Instructions
- In a shaker, combine ice with the Southern Comfort, Stolichnaya raspberry, St. Germain liqueur, simple syrup, orange juice, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice.
- Pour in a cognac glass over ice and finish with three dashes of Angostura bitters and a splash of champagne. Garnish with blueberries and raspberries.
