James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Dinner


James Beard was a pioneer foodie, American cookbook author, teacher, syndicated columnist and host of the first food program on television in 1946. Beard nurtured a generation of American chefs and cookbook authors who have changed the way we eat. When James Beard died at 81 in 1985, he left a legacy of culinary excellence and integrity to generations of home cooks and professional chefs. His name remains synonymous with American food. The mission of the James Beard Foundation is to celebrate, nurture, and preserve America’s culinary heritage and future. With this aim in mind, chefs are invited to “perform” at the Beard House in New York City by cooking and presenting lunches, brunches, workshops, and dinners to Foundation members as well as the public, creating a truly special dining experience.

The Celebrity Chef Tour began in 2004 as a way to transfer that same experience from the NYC Beard House to cities around the country. On June 13th, our very own Park City will be fortunate enough to be one of those cities.

At each Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, some of the nation and area’s top chefs come together to create a fantastic multi-course meal with each chef making a different course. The Park City Celebrity Chef Dinner will take place at Riverhorse On Main, will be hosted by Chef Seth Adams and will feature the following celebrity chefs (including some of our towns own!)

Like at the James Beard House, guests will have the rare opportunity to interact with the participating chefs while enjoying the luxurious atmosphere of the restaurant. The night will start with a reception with passed apps, wine and Stella Artois. It will then move into dinner with each chef preparing a course and each course paired with wine, beer, or a cocktail. The chefs will introduce their courses and answer a short Q and A. It will be an amazing night of food, wine, cocktails and chefs.
