Seeing as the first four days are always a bit more bumpin’ than the rest of the festival, there is always a lot to take in, and sometimes it can be hard to know exactly what is going on where. One thing we did stumble upon that was completely open to the public was all of the local goodness at the Merrell Virtual Reality lounge at the bottom of main. Only open for the first weekend, we were thrilled to see so many beloved local companies taking part in the event.
azithromycin With the help of Oscar-winning visual effects and content studio Framestore (known for work on the film “Gravity”) and advertising agency Hill Holliday, Merrell treated attendees to an Oculus Rift experience it called TrailScape. In addition to the thrill of the virtual reality experience, the space made a perfect mid-day place to stop or take a break with several lounge areas, two floors, and an open bar.
While spending time there, guests were encouraged to sample local snacks that were scattered all over such as trail mixes and dried fruits by All Good Provisions and Pop Art Organic Popcorn.
For those that were needing a pick-me-up, Publik Coffee Roasters was set up in one of the lounge areas serving delicious hot coffee all day.
On the top level, local bartending service Top Shelf set up a great bar area where they were whipping up free drinks including whiskey from High West Whiskey Distillery, and serving Moab Brewery beers.
We’ve also seen many cocktails featuring Utah’s very own Vida Tequila, including the St. Regis Deer Valley, the Fresh Dressed party at the CNN Lounge (Fletcher’s) movie premieres, and more!
It was so exciting to see so many local purveyors on display at some of Sundance’s main events, and it made us feel somewhat more at home in what can feel like a foreign environment in our hometown.
