My Liquid Garden’s Juice Cleanse Experience

The weather is getting warmer, the holiday feasts of the winter months are now over, and well let’s face it, our digestive systems could definitely use a break. Good thing Park City now has a juice shop that offers structured juice cleanses. For many that have never done a cleanse before, you may be unsure of them, or if you’re like me, you love food and just think it would be way too hard. Well, I want to tell you about mine, as well as my boyfriend’s, experience with one of My Liquid Garden’s juice cleanses that we tried. It’s not easy, but if you hang tough, it really does feel great.

My Liquid Garden offers two different types of cleanses:

  • Truth Signature Cleanse
  • Dedication Detox Cleanse

We went with the truth signature cleanse as we are not super experienced cleansers. For those of you who are used to the process, you could definitely step it up and go with the dedication detox cleanse. You could also look at the option of combining it with an ionic foot detox machine, to help cleanse yourself of toxicity that could be causing your body to not perform at its optimum level.

With the option of up to three days of cleansing, we chose to do the cleanse for one day, which still has great effects on the digestive system without taking up too much time. C’mon, it’s only a day, right? The cleanse consists of six juices a day, each juice offering something a bit different. It was structured in a way that every two hours when it was time to drink one you were almost excited to taste the next flavor. They’re good!

The juice flavors for a one day cleanse consist of:

DAY ONE
1. Lime-Aid
lime, cucumber, celery, apple, ginger
2. Sunrise Solution
carrot, sweet potato, pineapple, pear, ginger (This one was my absolute favorite)
3. Nothin’ But Green
spinach, celery, green apple, pear, parsley
4. Kickin’ Lemonade
lemon, apple, cayenne pepper, agave, filtered water
5. Take Charge
chard, purple cabbage, pear, lemon, cucumber
6. Detox
spinach, cucumber, celery, green apple, parsley

Our experience:

  • It is recommended that once you wake up the morning of Day 1, drink hot water with lemon to kick start your digestive system and ‘wake it up’ – this helped a lot and kind of acted as a cup of coffee would in the morning without actually having any coffee at all.
  • The first two are actually not difficult. Normally big breakfast eaters, we did not mind starting the day with a delicious and refreshing juice, and it actually filled me up.WARM-WATER-AND-LEMON
  • The middle of the day is when the cravings came. Not quite used to just drinking liquid, I felt full, but definitely wanted food. I loved having someone else to do it with me so I could use him for support i.e. “DON’T EAT! You can do it.”
  • Headaches and nausea. This came later in the afternoon and are completely normal. It is an adjustment for your body. I felt much better once I drank more water.
  • I was actually so full by the end of the day, the last juice was a little hard to drink. Coming to the end of our juice schedule for the day, it was a lot of liquid to intake so the last one almost felt like overeating.
  • The next day after a great sleep, we felt refreshed, and I could have definitely kept going. I think the first day is the hardest and from there, it only gets easier.

My biggest piece of advice is that if you are going to spend the time and money to do a cleans, do it right. No coffee, no tea, no nothing. You want to get the best results possible. They’re definitely worth trying and feel amazing so contact My Liquid Garden to get started! juice@myliquidgarden.com
