New Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Grand Opening Weekend and Events

For those who are familiar, reading this probably just made your day and your mouth water. If you are unfamiliar with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, well get ready. Park City is about to be overcome with everything and all barbecue goodness. Some might hear food chain and become weary, but when it comes to Dickey’s, there are a lot of things that make this chain a bit more special than others.

Dickeys prides itself on still being family owned and operated, but it also happens to be one of the fastest growing barbecue chains in the country, with 500 locations in 43 states. This year Dickey’s Barbecue was recognized for the third year by Nation’s Restaurant News as a Top 10 Growth Chain and by Technomic as the fastest-growing restaurant chain in the country. CNBC also named them fourth in America’s Fastest Growing Restaurants.

Their newest location located out in Kimball Junction next to My Liquid Garden opens Thursday. The new fast-casual barbecue chain offers eight meats smoked onsite and home-style sides, and kids eat free Sunday. Today, they still offer the same barbecue sauce developed by their founder, Travis Dickey in 1941.

New owner and operators Daniel Barton of Farmington, was previously an investment banker, and his wife Stephanie, formerly in the Freight Industry. The pair is thrilled to bring delicious Texas-style barbecue to Utah. “I chose Dickey’s Barbecue Pit because it’s one of the top growing franchises in the country and a brand people know and love,” Daniel said. “Park City has nothing like Dickey’s and everyone here can’t wait for us to open.”
