Park City’s Own Cookbook

Winter is cookbook season, the time when new books hit shelves and hopefully wind up as a present under the tree. So clear some room, because here is a local one to add to the collection.

“From the Restaurants of Park City, A Mountain Town’s Cookbook” has released volume 2, just in time for last minute holiday shopping, with gorgeous photos and 40 recipes gracing the 192 pages. Participating restaurants include Adolph’s, Apex, The Blue Boar, Cuisine Unlimited, Drafts, Edge Steak House, Flanagan’s On Main, Hyatt Centric EPC, J&G Grill, Molly Blooms, Mustang, Myrtle Rose, Powder, Red Rock, Shabu, Snake Creek Grill, Tupelo, Wasatch Brew Pub and Woodland Biscuit Company. Each restaurant provided between four and five recipes each.

The book also contains articles introducing the chefs, interesting stories about the restaurants, as well as our new addition in volume two – wine and beer pairings for a variety of dishes.

Books are available at Park City Mercantile, Dolly’s, Rooted, Cole Sport, Jans, The Market, Swaner Eco Center, Kimball Art Center, La Niche and at most of the restaurants featured in the book. Books retail for $28.95 or $57.95 for volumes 1 and 2.

About Author

Also originally from the South, Cara Rank discovered cooking was a creative outlet that helped her relax after long days writing magazine and newspaper articles during the past eight years in Jackson. Really, she just missed Southern food. A lot. During a 12-year career as a journalist, Cara has won numerous awards for her work and has written about everything from rodeo queens to Dolly Parton tomatoes. She spends her weekends making jars of pickles and jam and amazing dinners for friends. She loves shishito peppers, Chicago-style hot dogs and elderflower-spiked cocktails.
