On Sept. 16, Chef Seth Adams hosts world-class chefs from around the country for The James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour to create an unforgettable night of culinary delights paired with exquisite wines from Parallel Winery.
The Celebrity Chef Tour Dinners is a national dinner series bringing a taste of what happens at the James Beard House in New York City to more than 20 cities across the country annually. Each dinner begins with a cocktail reception followed by a one-night-only, multi-course dinner with wine pairings featuring a diverse group of Beard award winners and local chefs, and ending with a decadent dessert course and a Q&A session with the evening’s chefs.
Joining host Chef Seth Adams are local Park City Chefs Shawn Armstrong, Executive Chef at Montage Deer Valley, and John Murcko, Executive Chef and Owner of Firewood.
Chef Adams began his culinary career as a teenager, working in catering. Those summer and weekend catering jobs led Adams, a Pittsburgh native, to culinary school and it was skiing that cemented him to Utah. At Riverhorse, Adams keeps his guests happy by maintaining consistency in offering long-standing, crowd-pleasing favorites, but also expressing his sense of creativity and experimenting with flavors and ingredients that reflect the season and his own inspiration. Chef Murcko started cooking at age 14. Working in the kitchen of a family restaurant on Mackinaw Island, the owner made everything from scratch and mentored Chef Murcko in basic cooking principles and how to prep. As a longtime Park City Chef, integral in shaping the culinary scene in town, Chef Murcko opened his own restaurant, Firewood in 2016. With an emphasis on local ingredients and seasonal produce, the menu places emphasis on dishes cooked over open flame and various different woods to create a unique dining experience. With a culinary career spanning two decades and several continents, Shawn Armstrong brings a world of experience to his role as Executive Chef of Montage Deer Valley. With almost six years at Deer Valley, Armstrong oversees all of the culinary creation and execution of the six dining outlets as well as the expansive Banquets department.
