Last week, I had the pleasure of dining at Deer Valley’s wonderful restaurant, The Mariposa. The experience I had was an unforgettable one, from every bite that I tasted, the atmosphere, and the amazing service. All extremely key factors when it comes to a pleasurable dining experience, but this particular dinner seemed extra special. I think some of the most important things when it comes to being a great server are providing useful knowledge, being confident in your chef’s menu and talking about it, and being personable enough to carry on a comfortable conversation with your diners while not interfering with their personal experience too much. Our server at The Mariposa, did all of these things perfectly. His name is Jon Good. Originally from Bozeman, Montana, Jon has worked at Deer Valley for nine years and is now a server at The Mariposa as well as Royal Street Cafe. After coming here on vacation in the middle of one of Park City’s lovely 10-day snowstorms, naturally, the snow was so fantastic that he hasn’t left. Watch the video to get to know him better!
The service at a restaurant is half of the reason that we have the dining experiences we do, and it’s important to get to know the people that are giving us our food and creating those experiences.
Thank you for a great night, Jon, and thank you, Deer Valley, for the great video!
