Most associate the French word après (“after”) with wintertime and many people’s favorite sport: après ski — a time for crackling fireplaces, steaming fondue and hot toddys. But why ditch the après idea when the weather warms up? There are plenty of great spots in Park City to indulge in après any time of year and sport, including summer and fall. Nothing says “Summer is here!” quite like a frosty mug or bottle of brew. At Boneyard Saloon & Kitchen, enjoy the sunny (or starlit) patio and a selection of 100+ draft and bottled beers, or head next door to Wine Dive to select from 16 different wines on tap and many more available by the bottle. Hops on the Hill is a must-attend summertime series at Stein Eriksen Lodge for beer aficionados — an opportunity to sample craft brews alongside chef Zane Holmquist’s much-lauded cuisine on Stein’s scenic dining deck. At the Waldorf Astoria, there’s the poolside Beer Garden, which features five Park City Brewery beers including Pow Day, a signature brew named for the hotel’s Powder restaurant and bar. Along with cold beers, guests can enjoy poolside dining, picnic table seating and lawn games in a casual setting. Of course, gathering on the deck at Utah’s first brewpub, Wasatch Brew Pub, is a no-brainer and has been since 1986. Cold beer and warm vibes are always on tap at Wasatch.beer garden
