Tavern’s New Menu and Organic Juice Program

On the quaint and convenient corner of Heber and Main, is a somewhat tucked away gem of a pub. One may not notice it immediately if driving by, however, this place should not be overlooked and once you go, you’ll definitely become a frequent visitor. Underneath the former restaurant Table One, Sky & Main’s Tavern is a fantastic little hideout to escape to for some great craft cocktails, awesome fare and even organic juice! A cozy, intimate atmosphere pairs perfectly with their delicious comforting menu which has just been spruced up with new items and you must go try them.

Let’s start with their JOJ Juicing program (just organic juice) and JOJ cocktail menu. JOJ juice is made by a unique, cold-press, juicing method that minimizes oxidation and yields exceptional organic juices packed with vitamins, minerals and live enzymes. Sound yummy? You can order them online and pick up at your convenience! The JOJ menu consists of pineapple jalapeno, coconut water, lemon aid, and great fruit-mint. Aside from the juices, their cocktails also contain the organic juices such as the Sweet Oaxaca Heat made with Mezcal, fresh lime, JOJ Pineapple Jalapeno and Hellfire Shrub garnished with pink peppercorns. Mm, mmm. Or their most popular cocktail, the Tavern Mule – London dry gin, pomegranate liquor, JOJ great-fruit mint, and ginger beer.

Originally from Alabama, bartender Josh Murphy has brought a unique and refreshing outlook to Park City’s cocktail scene. Aside from using house pressed organic juices, they also use house made simple syrups, their own seltzer waters and incorporate unique, local ingredients as much as possible. Fresh flavors and superb ingredients always have the best outcome and Murphy is doing it up cocktails at Tavern in all the right ways.

The menu has something for everyone. With the health oriented side of their overall vision comes lighter, but delicious dishes such as the beet and quinoa salad served with baby carrots, watermelon radish, tzatziki sauce and pink peppercorn vinaigrette. Gluten free and rich with fresh flavors, I could probably eat this salad everyday.

On the more substantial side, chef Evan Francois is dishing out some great food and has put his name on the Chili Francois – a cassoulet style chili, duck confit, served leek and smoked gouda cornbread and plated so beautifully you’ll go from not wanting to ruin it to not being able to put your spoon down.
