The Wine Dive’s New, Separate Menu

“Let’s go get a drink.” says your anonymous friend. Now, the restaurant / bar quest is on. Now that Boneyard Saloon’s new sister restaurant, The Wine Dive has made quite the name for itself, it is quickly becoming the premiere place in town to gather with friends, grab a glass of wine, and an item or two (okay, or five) off of their new small plate menu. While enjoying your time at The Wine Dive, The Boneyard’s menu is still completely available to order from, but we wanted to give you all an inside look and shine the spotlight on The Wine Dive’s new, separate, and shall we say, very sexy new menu. It consists of 13 items, all of which once again, perfectly portray Chef Jerry Garcia’s immense fine dining talent (also the head chef atThe Boneyard) that he transforms into brilliant, but sophisticated ‘bar-comfort’ food.

Asian Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza

The first thing one  will notice when walking into The Wine Dive is its fantastically open atmosphere. The beautiful, chic blue bar stools perfect for bellying up to some wine on tap, the large garage door windows that yes, will be opened on warmer days, and the sleek white counter top overlooking the open kitchen that includes that beautiful baby in the corner, the wood fired oven. Magical things happen in that wood fired oven and naturally, wood-fired pizzas are big players on the menu, perfect for sharing with a friend over some wine. Some of the unique, and delicious pizzas that chef is whipping up are pies such as the baked potato pizza; light Alfredo sauce, smoked cheddar, fingerling potatoes, crisp smoky bacon and scallions, the asian pear and gorgonzola pizza with roasted walnuts and light Alfredo sauce (see image), classics like the marghertia pizza made with zesty red sauce, mozzarella medallions, and garden basil, as well as spicy Italian sausage and pepperoni pizza.

Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Pizza isn’t the only thing that’s being fired off in the oven. Wine Dive diners can also enjoy wood-fired bocconcini; melted mozzarella, roasted garlic, and baby portobellos, The Wine Dive meatball trio, and roasted brussel sprouts (one of my favorites); sweet corn, pinenuts, pancetta, asiago, and balsamic reduction. No, no, it doesn’t stop there. Things get really sophisticated with the sautéed, french burgundy escargot, warm spinach saladthe goat cheese ravioli (see featured image at the top of the page) served in a rich, roasted shallot broth with sun-dried tomatoes, and sweet onion jam, petit savory asparagus bread pudding, mini lobster tacos, and the gratinee of kiwi greenly mussels.

Special Charcuterie Boards

If you’re anything like me and love yourself a good assortment of cheese and cured meats with your wine, be sure to ask your server about their wonderful charcuterie boards. They will be a verbal special from time to time, and a must-order if it happens to be your lucky night.

All the menu items at The Wine Dive are the perfect small dishes for those that are seeking to catch up, have some drinks, but not fully indulge in a huge meal. Or do! You can create your own experience. A pizza can be ordered for one, and like I said, if you’re hungry for more, ask for a menu to The Boneyard and choose from a selection of burgers, sandwiches, wings, and more.

Starting this Wednesday, May 13th, The Wine Dive will be open every day and their menu will be available from 4 p.m. – close. Menu availability hours are subject to change during the summer so be sure to check back around the end of June).
