Let’s be honest. Any sort of spa treatment that starts off with a long soak in a bubbling foot bath and a perfectly mixed Peartini in hand is about as good as it gets. Park City locals are always on the hunt for great deals, and The Spa at Waldorf Astoria Park City delivers with its seasonal Perfect Pear Pedicure.
Running late, as usual, I slid in to the overstuffed massage chair with seconds to spare. Dunking my feet in to the warm, bubbling foot spa, the hectic day slipped away and the relaxation commenced.
Spa guests partaking in the Perfect Pear Pedicure have the choice of sipping on a Peartini cocktail, or one of the same that’s alcohol free. Opting for the cocktail version, I was delighted to find it was neither alcohol heavy nor too sweet. With the massage chair on and feet soaking happily in the soothing bath, step one of the pedicure began with a leg scrub treatment from Farmhouse Fresh, a natural paraben and sulfate free product. To craft this sumptuous scrub, the folks at Farmhouse Fresh crush one pound of California grown Bartlett Pears and infuse the mix with brandy. Blended with fine grain sea salt and rice bran oil, the yummy scent lingers and is reminiscent of summer.
After rinsing off the scrub, a honey healing hydrating mask is applied and offers gentle exfoliation for dry mountain tootsies. As the mask set in for a few moments, there was time to sip on the delish cocktail and enjoy the view of the courtyard just outside the window. A warm, cozy towel wrap was applied to rinse off the mask ensuring everything would stay moisturized. Up next, Sierra, my awesome spa technician, spent time sculpting and primping my feet making them flip-flop friendly and ready to go. I chose a color from the polish brand SpaRitual. Although they have a large selection of popular brands, I was enticed to try this particular polish due to its commitment to providing safe nail lacquers that are free from formaldehyde, camphor, DBP, toluene and formaldehyde resin. They are also vegan as are most of the Farmhouse Fresh products. As Sierra applied the perfect shade of pink in celebration of the last days of summer, I switched from my Peartini to a calming cup of Jasmine Song green tea. The perfect way to cap off a mini-retreat on a Monday afternoon.
