Where to Eat on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Park City

The holidays may be the most wonderful time of the year, but they can also be the most hectic time of the year. If your plate is overflowing, take something off your to-do list by making plans to pick up or eat out for Christmas.

In Park City, we’re lucky to have a number of restaurants who are open on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day. Their selections are festive and delicious—and dare we say, maybe even better than homemade? Take a look below to see what area restaurants have to offer for Christmas this year.

Deer Valley Grocery Café

Deer Valley Grocery CafePrefer to eat in the comfort of your own home? Place an order for delightful take-away selections from Deer Valley Grocery Café. Options will include dishes like Niman Ranch beef short ribs, wild mushroom soup, herb-roasted fingerling potatoes, Caesar salad and roasted butternut squash—plus a selection of homemade pies and desserts. Orders must be placed by 6 p.m. Dec. 21, and picked up by 6 p.m. Dec. 23, 24 or 25.

The Eating Establishment 

This Main Street spot is serving a three-course prix fixe menu, featuring holiday classics. Choose from a mixed green salad or wedge salad, followed by turkey with stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and squash, and dessert of bread pudding or pumpkin cheesecake. $60 per person, $35 for children. Reservations required.

Element Kitchen

Park City’s culinary concierge will offer a delicious take-out menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Stop by to check out a variety of selections for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, such as tea-smoked turkey with gravy; quinoa, pecan and shiitake-stuffed squash (shown above); house-smoked city ham; and roast prime rib.  They’ll also have more than a half-dozen sides, as well as apple crumble and triple-chocolate torte to choose from for dessert.

Escala Provisions Company Restaurant

Toast to the holiday at Escala’s Christmas Eve buffet. Options will include mustard-crusted prime rib, cranberry glazed ham, Mary’s chicken with a sour cherry reduction, and herb-crusted salmon, plus an array of sides and starters such as bacon mac and cheese, corn pudding, celery root and pear soup, salads, breads and a host of pies and cakes for dessert. $55 per person, $27.50 for children ages 6-12. 

Goldener Hirsch Restaurant 

Located in Deer Valley Resort, this AAA Four-Diamond restaurant will offer nightly specials on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in addition to its regular à la carte menus. Specials will include Maine lobster, 22-ounce dry-aged bone-in rib-eye, Maui Nui Axis venison, foie gras with burgundy winter truffles and a selection of domestic and imported caviar with traditional accompaniments.

Grub Steak

Head to this steakhouse for a three-course prix fixe on Christmas Day. Start with your choice of baby romaine Caesar salad, wild rice and mushroom soup or Park City’s best salad bar, followed by an entrée of Snake River Farms slow-roasted pork loin with cabernet jus and a choice of side, plus chocolate crème brulee for dessert. $48.75 per guest.

Powder at Waldorf Astoria Park City

On Christmas Eve, Powder is offering a unique dining experience featuring a family-style prix fixe menu. The modern mountain cuisine specials will include Niman Ranch roasted lamb loin, seared diver scallops, duck two ways, wagyu bavette, and much more. $69 per person, $34 for children ages 4-12.

On Christmas Day, the three-course prix fixe lunch will include selections such as lobster lemongrass soup or roasted Brussels sprout salad, followed by a choice of rack of lamb, salmon filet, roasted organic chicken breast or mushroom ragu. For dessert, choose between praline white chocolate mouse, raspberry mascarpone or flourless chocolate terrine. $55 per person, $35 for children.

Versante

On Christmas Day, Versante will serve a special holiday menu. Appetizers will include selections such as sweet potato croquettes, fire-blistered shishito peppers and crispy Brussels sprouts. Main options include roasted turkey breast with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and white gravy; brown sugar ham with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and brown gravy; roasted acorn squash with vegetarian stuffing, green beans and garlic mashed potatoes.
