Where to Grab a Quick and Healthy Meal After a Hike or Ride

0

Park City is an active town—to say the least. On any given day, you’ll find plenty of Parkites heading outdoors and hitting the 400+ miles of trails for a mountain bike ride or hike. While an outdoor activity is always fun on its own, we also love the fact that it provides us a great excuse to eat a delicious and hearty meal after burning all those calories.

Whether you’re heading out for an all-day adventure or an after-work ride, refuel with a healthy(-ish) meal at one of these top restaurants.

Boneyard Saloon & Wine Dive

Grab a table on the rooftop deck to relax and refuel après hike or ride. The menu spans a range of cuisines, from Korean tacos to wood-fired pizzas, so everyone will be able to find something suited for their taste. Plus, it has plenty of healthier options to choose from, such as the tasty Brussels sprouts Caesar salad (top with salmon or shrimp for added protein) or pork belly lettuce wraps.

Windy Ridge Cafe

Stop by this cafe for a casual yet hearty lunch on the outdoor patio. We like the kale salad, full of leafy greens topped with grilled chicken and goat cheese. If your hunger levels have reached Thanksgiving dinner-status, go with the hot turkey sandwich, served open-faced on grilled sourdough with mashed potatoes, cranberries and gravy.

Burgers and Barley

Build your own burger or choose from their list of specialty burgers, such as the Firecracker (jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and homemade habanero sauce) or the Raging Bull (grass-fed bison, Cabernet glazed onions, mushrooms and brie). Bonus: Burgers and Barley is conveniently located in the same shopping center as White Pine Touring, so it’s a perfect place to chow down after you return your bikes.

Deer Valley Grocery Cafe

Nothing beats coming off the Deer Valley trails to sit down to a gourmet meal at this lakeside cafe. From their homemade chicken salad to their spicy shrimp tacos, this beloved establishment has the ideal meal to refuel after a long day or restore your energy for the afternoon. You can also grab a snack bar to throw in your pack or pick up dinner for later.

Element Kitchen

When your afternoon adventure has been so much fun that you’re starving but too tired to even think about dining in at a restaurant, grab a tasty to-go meal from Element. Choose from healthy and filling specialties such as smoky rojo pork enchiladas, chicken cacciatore or quinoa salmon pilaf. Place your order online so it’ll be ready to go when you are.

Harvest

Stop by Harvest on lower Main Street for tasty brunch or lunch after an early morning excursion. This cafe features a seasonal menu with many ingredients sourced from local farmers and small-scale producers, so you can rest assured you’ll be eating well. Go for the smashed avocado toast topped with a poached egg, or get the “Buddha bowl of Goodness” for a dose of plant-based nutrients.
