Apres Spotlight | Maxwell’s East Coast Eatery

Mawell’s East Coast Eatery was opened by Steven Maxwell, with the intent on sharing his Italian American Family’s love of family, friends, and great food. Now with two locations, one in the downtown Salt Lake City area and one in the growing Kimball Junction area of Park City. Maxwell must be doing something right as they were featured last April on Food Network’s ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.’

With Steven Maxwell’s Italian heritage, one can find pastas with house-made sauces and his Grandmother’s gravy, 8-ounce meatballs that can be ordered as an appetizer, Philly cheesesteaks and even a delicious chicken parmigiano.  But few consider Maxwell’s as an apres ski destination, which to locals, may be a prime reason for visiting this restaurant.

There a numerous reasons to visit Maxwell’s for a little apres ski, particularly the Park City location, conveinently set in the heart of Newpark.  Whether stopping on your way home from a day in the cottonwoods or shredding in Park City, Maxwell’s is easy access right off the freeway I-80 in Kimball Junction.  The restaurant is family-friendly with large sturdy booths, some high tops to sit at, and a beautiful wrap around bar where you can almost always find a seat as well as a friendly bartender to chat with.

The best deal at Maxwell’s is by far the large, thin-crust 3$ slices of cheese pizza (an extra .50 for additional toppings) and the great selection of 4$ draft beers; or you can try a slice of one of Maxwell’s Specialty Pies (such as ‘The Godfather’ with mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes).

If Draft beer isn’t your forte after skiing, Maxwell’s offers a full bar with a wide variety of liquors to choose from.  One can find everything from Fireball, to High West Whiskeys and Vodkas, and even a diverse and reasonably priced (6$ and up) wine list featuring everything from California wines to a ‘Chianti Classico’ from Italy. There is surely something for everyone’s taste at Maxwell’s East Coast Eatery; whether it be great food, friends, and drinks, one can easily find them all at either of the Maxwell’s locations.
