Ask For It: Butcher’s Chop House Jasmine Rice


Rice- the unsung side. There’s rice, there’s jasmine rice and then there’s the jasmine rice on the menu at Butcher’s Chop House. We received a request for the recipe from Jill Rossi Panto, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, so she could pass it along to her mother. Well Jill, you and your mom aren’t the only fans of this side! Simple and delicious is the name of the game.

Butcher’s Chop House Jasmine Rice


  • 4 cups jasmine rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 can coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Butter (optional)


  1. Combine all ingredients (except butter) and pour into an oven-proof pan.
  2. Bake for 40 minutes at 450 F.
  3. Add butter to taste.
