Check out all of the exciting ways we have to celebrate Earth Day in Park City. From sun up to sundown, we have a plethora of options to make the most of this holiday.

Whole Foods Park City Vegan Bar
Where: Whole Foods Park City
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00am through 10:00pm
What:  Whole Foods Park City is increasing their vegan offerings on the hot bar on Earth Day from 11 a.m. -close. All Rocky Mountain Whole Foods Market stores will have at least six to eight vegan options, the perfect way to recognize Earth Day in the food choices you make for the day.

Earth Day March for Science
Where: Start at Wasatch Brew Pub to Park City Library
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9:00am through 1:30pm
What: Park City plans to mark Earth Day with a March for Science, a gathering meant to show support for ensuring public-policy decisions are based on scientific evidence. There will also be speeches by experts in a variety of fields during the event in Park City. The local March for Science is part of a nationwide movement planned on Saturday.  The march is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Brew Pub lot toward the southern end of Main Street. The marchers plan to descend Main Street to the walkway between Main Street and Swede Alley where the Franz the Bear statue is located. They will then move up Swede Alley to the Brew Pub lot, where a stage will be placed for a rally. The march itself is expected to last 20 minutes and will be followed by speakers. The event moves to the Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with remarks by more speakers.  For more info visit their Facebook page here.

Earth Day CHaRM
Where: Recycle Utah’s Center in Park City (1951 Woodbine Way)
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10:00am to 2:00pm
What:  At the CHaRM (Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials), they offer daily recycling services for over 45 different items. In 2016 alone, they diverted 3,519,000 pounds of materials from our Summit County landfill. On top of that, they provided environmental education to over 3,000 students in Summit and Wasatch County, and held two household hazardous waste collection events. Bring the following items to our center for recycling and reuse:

  • Acrylic CD cases
  • Athletic shoes/soccer cleats (must be in pairs, size 7-11 Mens/Womens)
  • CDs
  • DVDs
  • American flags
  • Batteries
  • Bikes
  • Bike parts
  • Bike tires
  • Bike helmets
  • Books
  • Bras
  • Brita filters
  • Camping propane tanks (empty)
  • Cardboard
  • Carseats
  • Cell phones
  • Contact lenses and packaging (blister packs)
  • Cooking oil
  • Eye glasses
  • Glass
  • Guitar strings
  • Ink cartridges
  • Mercury-containing items including thermometers, thermostats, radon detectors, and smoke detectors
  • Paper (self-serve shredding available)
  • Plastic film/grocery bags

  • Styrofoam (no to-go containers, cups)
  • Tires (max of 4 per household)
    • Fees apply: $2/each (rim size 0-18″), $4/each (rim size 19-23″), $10/each (rim size 24+” includes tractors and equipment)

  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste containers, floss containers

Nature Walk
Where: Swaner Preserve
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:30am to 10:00am
What: Join for a nature walk on the Preserve on Earth Day!  You will learn about wetland science, natural plant and animal species, and the history of the Swaner Preserve. Please come prepared for outdoor conditions.  Occur Saturday’s, $5 or free for members- to reserve your spot call: 435-649-1767.

Earth Day Celebration
Where: The Fieldhouse
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
What: Celebrate Earth Day with Basin Recreation! Participate in arts & crafts with Recycle Utah and make a masterpiece of art from old junk! See wild and crazy reptiles and critters with Kim’s Cold Blooded Creatures. Relax and enjoy Wall-E with your friends and family (movie starts at 5:00pm). Bounce houses will be available throughout the event!  Win a tree for your elementary school- the school with the greatest attendance to the event will WIN a tree donated by Wasatch Back Trees. Basin Recreation will award the tree and design a plaque for the winning school and plant the tree in one of the Basin Recreation parks for all to see.

Recycle Utah’s Annual Earth Day Fundraiser
Where: Wasatch Brew Pub
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
What: This event is a celebration of our beautiful Earth and the work we do together to protect it. Their 2017 Earth Day Celebration will include a burger bar, drinks, live music, and a silent auction. Your registration includes dinner and two drink tickets.  Register for the event here. Tickets are $35/each for adults and $15/each for children.  All event proceeds support their mission of empowering people to lead sustainable lives.
