If you get a little restless this fall, we have an easy, quick option for a getaway: Denver.
Whether its a concert at Red Rocks that beacons you, a Broncos game, or just a yearning for a change of scenery, Denver has it all. We recently took a quick trip to the city to do some research for you on where to stay, what to do, and, obviously, where to eat.
Sleep: the Art, a hotel
Part art gallery, part boutique hotel, the Art is centrally located on cap hill. Outside the door you will find several museums next door and inside there is a collection to rival them surrounding you. In room-ameneties include complementary snacks and drinks, but don’t miss the 24-hour candy bar inside the lobby too.
Do: Soak Up Some Culture
Given the proximity of the Art to Denver’s gallery district, it would be a same to miss out on all the art. Make some time to go the History Colorado Center Awkward Family Photos exhibit, on display through Jan. 8th. It’s hilarious. We laughed out loud no less than five times. Or just walk around and see some of the outdoor art as well (above). And of course, there is Red Rocks just a short Uber ride away, with concerts scheduled through the end of October.
No trip to Denver is complete without a trip to Snooze. Even though there are several locations in the city, you can expect a wait. Don’t worry, there is a selection of bloody mary’s to choose from and if you go to the newest location, in Union Station, there are plenty of shops to browse while you wait. Since you have worked up an appetite while you wait, order a flight of pancakes alongside your savory options, like six choices of eggs Benedict.
The Art also has a great option for drinks and dinner with its restaurant Fire. A lovely patio outside, is a great place to soak in a sunset view while you enjoy a snack. But if you dine indoors, you can order from the Manhattan cart, where a mixologists blends the perfect combination just for you.
Denver is also full of some incredible food halls, which offer a selection of booths with specialty dishes. The arepa below, from Avanti Food and Beverage is not to be missed.
