Fairweather Natural Foods, Park City’s oldest, locally-owned heath food store will celebrate the beginning of its 30th year in business next month! The community market and cafe has been serving Park City since May 1992. Fairweather offers made-to-order organic juices and smoothies, fresh baked goods, and house-made vegan soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as local and organic produce, groceries, vitamins, herbal remedies and holistic products.
There are definitely customers that have been with us since the beginning. We have a pretty steady local clientele for groceries and supplements. Those people seeking a healthy lifestyle find us, and the die-hards find us.
Jen Rattray, owner of Fairweather Natural Foods
Fairweather owner Jen Rattray has been in the health food industry for over thirty five years, and has a background in nutrition and natural food restaurants. She has designed a cafe menu that has been recognized by the “Best of Park City” several times in the “Best Healthy Food” category for its salads, which are all made using organic produce and are served with Fairweather‘s house-made dressings. The made-to-order juice and smoothie bar uses only organic fruits and vegetables, and offers everything from the Funky Monkey, made with peanut butter, cacao powder, almond milk, banana, and plant protein, to the Green Boost, filled with cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, parsley, lemon, apple and ginger. Customers can also choose from a wide selection of grab-and-go vegan soups, sandwiches, and gluten free baked goods.
The cafe has definitely grown the most and it is the biggest draw for people. We offer grab-and-go convenience, and customers can shop for and buy the ingredients to make the foods that we make here.

Fairweather Natural Foods has plenty of locally-made items to add to your grocery list. In fact, Fairweather was the first store to carry Pro Bar, and has continued to support local purveyors by stocking the shelves with locally made honey, chocolate, granola, and NOKA Organics plant based smoothie packets.
As a small business I’m always wanting to see the local and smaller vendors being sold too.

Customers can shop a variety of health related products from supplements, sun care products, books and educational materials on subjects including cooking, cleanses, detoxification, and holistic medicine, and even eco-friendly cleaning supplies.

I really believe that people have the ability to heal themselves instead of just running to the doctor. I feel pretty fortunate that I get to do what I am so passionate about. I’m grateful to my local customers. People are thankful all the time and express that to me and that’s rewarding. There is something to be said about staying small and serving up what you serve up really well, instead of always trying to be better, better, better. I’m just trying to stay afloat doing what we do and doing it well.
