Irish Fare

About 12 hours until the clock strikes midnight, and one of the wildest holidays of the year begins. We showed you the other day some of the great locations for special celebrations this year, but the locations below are busy serving up Irish fare year-round on their menus.

Some of you may be wondering, what Saint Patrick’s Day is and why do we even celebrate it?  Also know as the Feast of Saint Patrick, it is a cultural and religious celebration, that is held on March 17 to commemorate the death of Saint Patrick ( c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland.  So even if you aren’t Irish, you can grab some customary shamrocks and/or green clothing to really get in the spirit.  The color green, by the way, has been associated with Ireland since at least the 1640s, when the green harp flag was used by the Irish Catholic Confederation.

So, if you want to celebrate with traditional Irish-inspired food and drinks, then our local pubs and bars that serve up the tasty eats year round, is a great place to start.  Pair with a frothy Guinness, Green Beer, or Black and Tan, and you will be headed in the right direction!  Don’t miss our throwback to our Shepards Pie recipe under the Boneyard Saloon heading too!
