Local Purveyor Spotlight: Auntie Em’s Baked Goods

Auntie Em's Park CityEmily Burney is the perfect example of someone who turned her immense love of something into a reality. “I had always loved baking and had always talked about doing something with it, and finally I got sick of just talking about it,” she said. Originally from the Chicago area, Burney worked in bakeries all across the West for three years before she finally settled in Park City. It was then she realized that along with working winters ski patrolling at The Canyons Resort, it was time to start her own baking business.

The concept? Freshly baked goods made right here in Park City using wholesome and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The name? “I do have two nephews, but people don’t actually call me Auntie Em. I just liked the idea of it sounding homey. I strive for my products to be awesome, home baked basics,” she said. And that’s exactly what they are.

In June 2014, she began selling her small-batch, “lovingly baked” goods at The Park City Farmers Market as the initial introduction of her new business to the world. Now, over one year later and with access to a commercial kitchen space, you can find her products at Park City Bread and Bagel, the Copper Moose Farmstand (when open) and The Park City Film Series. Most importantly and conveniently, you can also purchase her homemade cookies and pies online (cookies are available for local delivery and out-of-town shipping; pies are local delivery only) single cookies are available or multi-packs. Perfect for parties, open houses, gifts or just to treat yourself to local home baked treats. Go shopping for your sweet tooth here at auntieemspc.com.  IMG_7399
