NY Style Pizza in PC

Other than ordering big chain delivery pizza it’s slim pickin’s in Park City, where we’re not quite the west coast and definitely not the east coast. Luckily, with no coast we’re not pizza-confused, our pizza savior is New York style pizzeria, Este Pizza. Este in Park City is co-owned by husband and wife, Carissa and Josh Devenport. Carissa is a Park City native who had the realization that we didn’t have a whole lot of pizza options in our town. Josh worked at the first Este in Sugarhouse and managed the downtown Salt Lake City location. He and Carissa decided it was time to bring a pizzeria up the canyon.

Operating as an independent business, the Devenports have all the control over their menu and ingredients, which is why you can find ‘house-made’ and ‘homemade’ in almost every menu item. Fresh, locally sourced when possible, ingredients are top priorities; fresh veggies are chopped daily. The menu lists housemade dressings, marinara and pizza sauces, garlic knots, vegan Chick-un, and more.

Vegan options are plentiful on the Este menu. Carissa is a former long-time vegan and knows the importance of having a menu that has options for every diet. Her favorite vegan entrees are the vegan barbecue Chick-un pizza and the vegan pesto Chick-un sandwich; the Chick-un is made in house as well as the vegan pesto. You can build your own vegan pizza or choose from five specialty pies. They even have vegan buffalo chicken wings with housemade vegan ranch.

The specialty pizza menu features something for everyone. A personal favorite is the Italian flag, striped with pizza sauce, ricotta, and pesto sauce and topped with garlic, oregano and mozzarella cheese. Make any pizza gluten-free by ordering the 10” gluten-free crust. The pizzeria also crafts Stromboli and true calzones, which has pizza dough wrapped around ricotta and mozzarella cheeses; there’s a difference, people. To lighten up any meal, order one of their salads with homemade dressing.

Year-round, the pizzeria features both a pizza and sandwich of the week using seasonal fresh ingredients, like buffalo chicken pizza or a chicken cordon bleu sandwich. Another year-round feature is the extensive beer menu and the cheapest glass of wine in town at just $3! Throughout April and May, you can find weekly specials as well as Monday deals. The Monday deal gets you two slices of pie and a drink for just $5.99 or take dinner home with an 18” two-topping pizza for $18. During mud season, operating hours of Este Pizza will not change.

The patio opens on May 1, so come enjoy some New York style slices and $3 wine or local Utah beers.
