Flights are a great way to sample what some of your favorite restaurants are pouring. And for those who are new to a restaurant, brewery, distillery or wine bar, flights are an excellent way to taste the different offerings and to figure out what you like best.
Below we’ve rounded up some of our favorite spots in Park City offering flights, or something close to it, that include tastes of sake, beer, whiskey, wine and gin!
Shabu
While enjoying a couple of sushi rolls at Shabu, order their sake flight for a chance to try something new and to compare the flavors, aromas and colors of three different sakes you might not have chosen otherwise. The flight highlights Dreamy Clouds, an unfiltered and creamy sake; Heaven’s Door, a dry and fragrant sake; and Gekkeikan Horin, a balanced and unique sake.
Squatters Roadhouse Grill
At Squatters, they serve a flight of four, two and a half ounce samples of beer that you can pick out or have a server recommend. They suggest trying four of their seasonal beers on tap, and we recommend when choosing your beers to try to start with a light-flavored, refreshing beers like a lager or blonde ale, and finishing with stronger beers like a double IPA, imperial stout or porter.
Alpine Distilling
New to the Main Street scene is Alpine Distilling’s Pie Bar. Head down the stairs below 350 Main for a speakeasy-like atmosphere, where Alpine’s experienced bartenders can guide you through a tasting flight that includes their award-winning Preserve Liqueur, Alpine Gin and Lafayette Spiced Bourbon Whiskey for $9. You can add other available spirits to your flight for $5 per taste.
High West Saloon
Pop into High West Saloon to sample a flight of some of their most popular products. The 101 Flight features the American Prairie Bourbon, Double Rye!, Rendezvous Rye and the Campfire.
Old Town Cellars
Build your own tasting at Old Town Cellars. Not necessarily a flight, OTC offers their wines by the half glass (two and a half ounces), so it’s easy to sample their delicious après-friendly wines. Start with the Mountain Town White and Townie Rose, and work your way to the Mountain Town Red and Old Town Outlaws. Also, private tastings with two-ounce pours of their six current wines, as well as local cheese and charcuterie, are available upon request from 2-3 p.m. any day that Old Town Cellars is open for $75 per person.
