The Buzz About Campos

There seems to be a certain “buzz” about the new Campos Coffee at the base of Park City Mountain Resort.   The new location is not only a hub for some amazing coffee and treats, but the company has chosen for Park City to be their new U.S. headquarters.  They hail originally from down under in Austraila, and we couldn’t be that they have chosen our town for their new venture.  Head of Marketing, Nathan James, gives us the scoop on what makes Campos so special.

Brief history of Campos and outlook for the future:
Campos Coffee began in 1999 in the back lanes of Newtown in Sydney with one purpose — to create a place where everyone would receive an excellent coffee experience, every single visit. Today, Campos has eight flagship cafés and works with an amazing, close network of partner cafés across Australia, served by roasters in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. In 2016, we opened our first international store in Park City, Utah.

Campos is founded on the ideal of Quality Coffee Cultivated by Good; that coffee only tastes best when it’s made ethically and with care. We partner with each of the farmers that supply the coffee beans across the world, and contribute to at least one social project in each region we buy from. We wholeheartedly believe that every business must play a big part in creating a better society. We happily take responsibility and accountability for Campos Coffee being a force for social good in every community we are part of.

We want to take a very considered approach to the future, so the focus now is to ensure our Park City cafe is serving amazing quality coffee, each and every-time. However, in the not too distant future we hope to set-up a local coffee roastery.

What made Campos choose Park City as their new U.S. headquarters?
It came down to values. We needed to find a location that best reflected the core values of Campos Coffee. Park City was just that; an active, inclusive and diverse community that cares about the environment. The whole town has a commitment to quality service, community engagement, ethical business and innovative product offerings, including a significant dedication to the arts (such as the Sundance Film Festival).

We can’t wait to play an expanded role in the community.  Our philosophies on business are built around the win-win economy and success being measured by how much good we can do in the world.  This resonates in Park City.

What makes Campos coffee different from other coffee in Park City?
We believe it is essential that we maintain our Australian perspective on coffee. This goes for our Australian espresso drinks: flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos, babycinos, affogatos which will all have our Campos Coffee flare to them.  The difference also extends to our coffee sourcing, roasting and brewing approach, which can be tasted in the beans and in the beverages.

Some additional info about their offerings:
All your Café food favourites, just with an Australian twist. Dishes like fresh smashed avocado on artisan bread, freshly baked pastries + sweet treats and famous Aussie Jaffles (sandwiches) with a selection of delicious fillings.  We have a snow beach with Adirondack chairs adjacent to the café, which is a perfect setting for sipping your favourite coffee or hot chocolate, we can’t wait to serve you!

James describes that meeting all the amazing people so far of the Park City community has been the best part since opening.  The welcome they have received has been warm and humbling, and he describes it as “breath-taking.”  So if you haven’t stopped at Campos yet, make a point to head to the base of Park City Mountain Resort and fuel up and discover more about this amazing company.
