Everything at the Waldorf Astoria Park City‘s Arctic Ice Lounge is served on ice – because the entire bar is made of it. TheĀ champagne-themed ice lounge was completely redesigned for winter 2016 with new champagne flights, champagne-based cocktails and penguin ice sculptures galore. Yes, penguin ice sculptures.
The grand opening party Thursday nightĀ featuredĀ live entertainment, perfectly chilled hor d’ourves by Chef Ryker Brown of Powder and debuted the space before it’s opening to the public Saturday and will be open daily from 2-8PM.
The newĀ champagne cocktails include inventive mixes. WhileĀ I’ve hadĀ whiskey and champagne together before, I’veĀ never intentionally combined the two in the same glass. Their Kentucky Fizz suspiciously combinesĀ High West Double Rye, bitters, sugar and MoĆ«t Ice ImpĆ©rial together but it proves to beĀ a little bit spicy, a little bit sweet and a whole lot delicious.
For those after the full Impérial experience, the menu offers champagne experiences, which include a select bottle of Moët, Black Sea beluga caviar and other accoutrements. I wish all experiences were champagne experiences.
Put on your coat, grab some gloves and treat yourself to a cool night at the Arctic Ice Lounge. It’s the perfect winter memory, and there are some seriously good photo opts, including a giant penguin throne for two.
