Après Affection: Across Park City

Welcome back to our weekly blog series, Après Affection. Here, we round up our favorite treats for post-mountain sessions all around Park City. Whether it is thirst-quenching cocktails, or sweet and savory treats, our friends all around town share with us their recipes and favorite après ski bites.

PARK CITY MOUNTAIN

Corner Store

If you are looking for the perfect party spot post-ski, then Corner Store is the spot for you!  This legendary locale has been serving up the liveliest apres experience since 1974!  Not only do they have delicious food, but they also have awesome staff and some of the best prices on the mountain. They are very convenient as well, just right off the slopes at the Park City Base of Park City Mountain Resort. They serve breakfast, lunch, beer, a full bar, and Apres with live music.

What we love:
Their Corner Store chili is hard to beat after a chilly day on the mountain.  We also love their selection of kids items as well as vegetarian items like their grilled portabello mushroom sandwich.  Everything pairs perfectly with an ice cold PBR!

When: daily at 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: 1325 Lowell Ave at the base of Park City Mountain ResortNick Spalding Ltd

DEER VALLEY

ESB Lounge

This sweet spot is perfectly quaint in the upper level of Snow Park Lodge.  The name ESB is short for the namesake it honors, Edgar B. Stern Jr.  Edgar was Deer Valley’s founder, and this spot pays perfect homage to him with incredible photos and memorabilia adorning the walls of the old school hangout.  There are some flat screen TVs and comfy chairs to relax after a fun day on the Deer Valley slopes.  Edgar’s Beer and Spirits Lounge offers tasty appetizers, draft and bottled beer, wines and cocktails.  They also offer live music on weekends and holidays.

What we love:
You can enjoy some favorite Deer Valley mainstays like their artisanal cured meats and cheeses platter, and the always amazing Deer Valley turkey chili nachos- blue corn chips, cheddar cheese, cilantro sour cream, and green onions.  Our cocktail of choice is the last chance mule- choice of Absolut lime or High West Double Rye, Fever Tree ginger beer, and fresh squeezed lime juice.

When: daily at 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: Upper level of Snow Park Lodge at the base of Deer Valley ResortESB_Nachos

MAIN STREET

Wasatch Brew Pub

When founder Greg Schirf first moved to Park City from Milwaukee in the early 80’s, he wondered where the craft beer scene was in town.  He knew that something had to change in the then sleepy mountain town, so he decided to take it on himself and started a brewery. Wasatch was the very first brewery in Utah, and not to mention one of the first craft breweries in all of the U.S.  It now is a mainstay on Main Street in Park City and it has been brewing award-winning brews since 1986, and serving up equally delicious food to pair.

What we love:
They of course have an incredible beer selection – try the coffee stout!  They offer up great pub-fare favorites like mac and cheese, fish and chips, plus plenty of sandwiches and lite bites as well.

When: daily at 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. (Sat & Sun at 10 a.m.)
Where: 250 Main St, at the top of Main
Wasatch

CANYONS VILLAGE

Umbrella Bar

It can’t get much more convenient than the Umbrella Bar at the base of Canyons Village, adjacent to the Cabriolet.  They are the perfect spot to kick back and cool down on the massive deck in the center of the village. This classic spot with an awesome outdoor deck that offers unique 360 degree views from its glass enclosure, has the perfect view of the village music stage, which offers up some of the best post-ski live music around.

What we love:
They have an on point simple apres menu offering things like specialty hot dogs, burgers and an extensive beer selection featuring draft and craft brews.

When: daily 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: 4000 Canyons Resort Drive, Canyons Village North of the Cabriolet

UNEXPECTED APRES

Versante

If you haven’t tried Versante at Peaks Hotel yet, you are missing out!  This new gem has delicious hearth-oven flatbread pizzas and handcrafted cocktails to boot. They offer an inviting and modern environment, combined with convenient location, quality ingredients and great pricing.  Not only that, but they are moments away from the base of Park City Mountain Resort, and open right in time for après at 4 p.m., and stay open late night until midnight. Enjoy half price appetizers from 4-6!

What we love:
Their old town pie is pretty hard to beat, with spicy italian sausage, caramelized fennel, onion and black olive.  Their rubano and slow roasted French dip sandwiches are also perfect for after a day on the hill.  You can warm up as well with their tasty hot white Russian!
