A Very Park City Christmas

There are few places more traditionally festive than Park City. The snow-covered hills, twinkling lights and community spirit make this mountain town the perfect place to spend Christmas. And with such a rich dining scene, there is a veritable bounty of deliciousness to indulge in. Here are some of the top picks – advance reservations strongly recommended!

Glitretind at Stein Eriksen Lodge

What better place to spend Christmas Eve than at an authentic European-style lodge? Stein Eriksen Lodge’s Glitretind will be offering a prix fixe menu, with the first seating between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m., and then a second seating between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. There will be a children’s menu available for both seatings. Cost is $220 per adult, $45 per child. Ask about special pre-selected wine pairings!

On Christmas Day, Glitretind will offer their traditional Christmas Day dinner buffet from 11:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The Christmas night buffet will be served from 5-7:30 p.m. Cost is $150 for adults, $45 for children age 5 through 12.

The Lodge At Blue Sky

Gather together around a family-style dinner on Christmas Eve at The Lodge At Blue Sky‘s Yuta Restaurant ($95 plus optional wine pairings). Yuta mountain fare features the freshest local, seasonal ingredients. There will also be a signature children’s menu available. Enjoy live piano music in the living room while you dine, and storytelling with Santa after dinner (8:30-9:30 p.m.). Reservations can be made between 5:30-9:00 p.m.

On Christmas Day, enjoy a pancake buffet from 7-11 a.m. – pajamas welcome! For Christmas Dinner, there will be a four-course prix fixe dinner served from 5:30-9 p.m. ($115 per person, with optional wine pairings). And don’t miss The Lodge At Blue Sky’s gingerbread masterpiece on display!

Throughout the winter season, The Lodge At Blue Sky will offer a snowshoe and fondue experience – spend the afternoon snowshoeing to their heated mountain yurt, where you can enjoy mulled wine (or hot cider for the kids) outside by the fire, followed by fondue accompanied like house-made sourdough bread, green apples and fresh vegetables for dipping. The three-hour excursion is $225 per person.

Versante Hearth + Bar

Verasante Hearth + Bar in the Peaks Hotel will offer a hearty Christmas Dinner from 4-9 p.m., featuring roasted turkey, prime rib and chocolate pots de crème, in addition to their full menu. Don’t miss Versante’s luminous cocktails, like the purple (yes – purple!) Botanical Dragon and Pow Cloud.

Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe

If you would prefer to enjoy a special Christmas meal at home, but don’t wish to spend a lot of time preparing your feast, pick up pre-prepared dishes made for four people at Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe, such as their roasted pork loin, baby spinach salad, roasted green bean almandine and savory bread pudding. For those memorable Christmas treats, Deer Valley Grocery Cafe’s house-made cookies, carrot cake, german chocolate cake and pies (apple, cherry and blueberry) are a perfect choice. Ask about gluten-free baked goods, too! For pick up on Dec. 23, place meal orders by Dec. 20. Then, simply relax and savor the extra time with your family.

Alpine Distilling

What is a celebration without a holiday drink, and a locally-made one at that? Alpine Distilling is offering special December pricing on bottles, perfect for your home bar or to give as a host gift. Excellent choices include their Alpine gin (recent Gin Of The Year winner), Alpine vodka, Lafayette spiced whiskey and preserve liqueur. Bottles are available at Alpine Distilling and at Utah state-sponsored liquor stores.

Snow Globe Stroll On Park City Main Street

Lastly, if you simply want to get out and soak up the general merriment, you can enjoy the Snow Globe Stroll on historic Park City Main Street through Jan. 5. There are eight life-sized rotating, glowing snow globes along Main Street that tell the story of all there is to enjoy in Park City. You can’t shake these giant snow globes, but as you move closer the motion sensor will activate the flurries! If you need to deliver your holiday wish list to Santa, you can swing by Santa’s Mailbox at the corner of Heber Avenue and Main Street before December 24th.
