Stein Eriksen Lodge has paired up with local Park City brand Alpine Distilling to offer a limited edition private label spirit, Stein Eriksen 52 Aquavit. Only 200 bottles were made and currently await guests to enjoy until the collection is gone.
“We are thrilled to unveil a unique spirit that is true to Stein Eriksen Lodge’s proud Norwegian heritage. Alpine Distilling has been such an innovative partner, and we are grateful to be able to create a brand new product together for locals and visitors alike to experience.” – Zane Holmquist, Stein Eriksen Lodge vice president of food and beverage, and corporate chef.
Aquavit, traditionally native to Scandinavia, is distilled from grain or potatoes and flavored with herbs (mainly caraway or dill). Word origin comes from the Latin meaning “water of life.” The Stein Eriksen label is composed from wheat and barley produced in oak barrels and flavored with global components of European caraway seeds, Moroccan orris root, Egyptian coriander, Indian cumin and American orange peel.
The aquavit has a deep, complex taste profile, soft mouthfeel and is best served as a chilled shot or in one of the lodge’s signature cocktails. The spirit presents as “liquid gold” in color with a beautiful aroma.
Upon completion of the limited edition’s 200 bottles, the future of the spirit will live on through its original oak barrel, being used to age an exclusive beer produced by Red Rock Brewing.
