Park City’s Award-Winning Beverages

A mountain town in the middle of Utah may not seem like the place to garner impressive awards for its wines and spirits, but Park City has been racking up some pretty noteworthy honors in this department. Be sure to taste these local creations that have been recognized on a national – and even international – scale.

Alpine Distilling

Alpine Distilling is the winner of USA Today’s “10 Best Reader’s Choice Award” for Best Craft Gin Distillery in 2022. It’s actually the third time that Alpine Distilling has received the award – they were also recognized in 2019 and 2021.

The local distillery, owned by husband and wife team Rob and Sara Sergent, has also been honored with London’s Gin Of The Year in 2021 and Best In Show at the International TAG Spirits Awards in 2022.

Alpine Distilling’s kosher certified Alpine Gin is distilled via a vapor extraction process and created with a unique blend of juniper sourced in Croatia, coriander from Egypt, angelica root grown in France, cardamom from India, ginger from Guatemala, citrus fruits grown in the USA and pure mountain water. The result is a crisp, fresh nose and lingering notes of spiciness, sweet citrus, mint and cherry – use it in your favorite French 75 cocktail.

Their Alpine Lily Lake Gin, inspired by the Uinta mountain lake, also includes Egyptian hibiscus flowers, with a tart, herbaceous palate. Try it in a blackberry-flavored Bramble cocktail recipe.

Alpine Distilling also features several beloved bottles of whiskey, including Alpine American Whiskey, Utah Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Alpine Triple Oak Whiskey.

Old Town Cellars

Old Town Cellars, the “Official Wine Of Après,” has received many honors for their excellent and approachable wines, created by locals with a passion for outdoor adventures. The OTC Mountain Town White was honored with a Gold medal from the Utah Wine Competition, as did their Chardonnay. The Townie Rosé, a local favorite, took Gold at the completion, and the Pinot Noir received Silver. Lastly, the OTC S.O.M. cabernet sauvignon was honored with the Gold/Best In Class award.
