For Your Roasting Pleasure: 5 Spots to Find Après Ski S’mores

What’s synonymous with cold winter days, skiing, snowboarding and hot chocolate? Well, we can only think of one thing: s’mores! A visit to Park City, Utah is incomplete without a s’mores roasting session. Those sandwiched squares of crunchy graham crackers, gooey chocolate and toasted marshmallows are not only just a lure for the kids but also adults. Luckily, Park City answers the call with many locations offering après s’mores. So after hitting the slopes, indulge in this gooey treat at a couple of our favorite spots!

Montage Deer Valley

The Montage Deer Valley holds s’more roasting sessions daily from 4-5 p.m. for Montage Deer Valley guests at the Vista Terrace Firepit. This is not your typical chocolate on top of a graham cracker with a melty marshmallow experience – Montage Deer Valley’s version offers a build-your-own bite bar with a variety of gourmet marshmallow flavors. From mocha and caramel to peppermint and strawberry, along with dark and milk chocolate, there’s a marshmallow flavor for all!

Waldorf Astoria Park City

If you’re staying at the Waldorf Astoria Park City, you’ll find s’mores from 7:30-9 p.m. at the back of the lobby near the pool area. The Waldorf sticks to the s’mores roots, using the popular fluffy marshmallows, milk chocolate bars, graham crackers and pairing it with delicious hot chocolate.

St. Regis Deer Valley

On the Astor Terrace, St. Regis Deer Valley’s guests are handed tools for complimentary s’mores from 5-8 p.m. If you pop by a little early, you can catch their free hot chocolate bar from 3-5 p.m. as well, located near the library, where you can top off thick, rich cocoa with treats like chocolate chips, sprinkles and whipped cream.

Park City Sheraton

If you are staying at the Park City Sheraton enjoy your s’mores with a view of skiers and snowboarders gliding down the slopes. Get cozy by the fire on the back patio of the Timbers Lounge from 3:30-6 p.m. and build your own s’mores while discussing your favorite run of the day. Pair your sticky, chocolatey goodness with a hot chocolate or apple cider, and if you are so inclined, add a shot of peppermint schnapps or whiskey for some extra warmth. On Friday and Saturdays, they also have live music for your enjoyment.

Park City Mountain

After a day of rigorous powder-ripping on Park City Mountain, skiers and snowboarders can amuse their taste buds with two complimentary weekend s’mores events. On Saturdays, s’more enthusiasts can lounge by the firepit at the Canyons Village Umbrella Deck at 3 p.m. to get their fill (and potentially a donut as well), while on Sundays you can venture over to the Park City base for your après ski treat. Supplies are limited and they go very fast, so if you’re in need of that chocolatey goodness we suggest heading down the hill before your urge for “one more run” takes over.
