5 Ways to Après

Find some creative and classic spots in Park City this winter.

With the arrival of the winter storms comes every skier’s (and non-skier’s) favorite pass-time – the long standing tradition of après ski. From off-the-beaten path to crowd pleasers, here are five ways to après.

The Updated Classic

Goldener Hirsch was recently acquired by Auberge Resorts Collection and their mid mountain, ski-in ski-out location in Silver Lake makes it the perfect spot to end your day on the Deer Valley slopes. This Bavarian gem has several options for an exquisite après ski experience.

Café Après offers casual fare like their house Bavarian pretzel, or flatbread with lamb sausage, wild mushroom, arugula and gruyere cheese. Complete the afternoon with wine by the glass, craft cocktails or local brews from the café’s full bar.

The Goldener Hirsch Restaurant has heartier cuisine on their après ski menu – traditional Austrian cheese fondue, Utah lamb chili, and a raclette bacon burger served with truffle fries are just some of the featured menu items. Curated wine pairings, local draft beers and signature cocktails are available.

The Fresh Spin

Kuchu Shabu is shaking up the meaning of Après in the heart of Canyons Village. Starting at 4 p.m., this funky noodle shop offers Japanese hot pot, ramen, and pho as the perfect accompaniment for hot broth, hot sake, and all the appetizers you could want to help warm up and refuel after a long cold day on the slopes. A full bar, large TVs for viewing extreme sports and even some luxury surprises like the off-menu certified, A5 Wagyu imported from Japan round out this unique way to end your day.

The Local’s Secret

“The Official Wine of Après” has a home at Old Town Cellars Bar and Lounge located at 408 Main Street. Serving their full collection by the glass (or by the bottle – it’s Après, no judgement here), as well as a curated selection of other vineyard offerings, local brews and craft cocktails are all available. Old Town Cellars partners with Gold Creek Farms, Beltex Meats and local’s favorite Red Bicycle Breadworks to create beautiful boards to pair with the selections of beverages.

The Timeless

The newly built Vintage Room at The St Regis Deer Valley is a posh 1,600 square foot VIP après ski experience. Featuring a 30-foot long bar for their mixologists to sling craft cocktails and their signature drafts. Chef Matt Harris is the architect behind the curated menu featuring a raw bar, and hot options like turkey chili or shrimp pan roast. A full live music schedule will be played daily.

The Cutting Edge

For those looking for an elevated choice, Edge Steakhouse in the Westgate Resort Park City starts dinner service at 5:30 pm. With heated alpenglobes to protect guests from the elements, and full menu of choice cuts of meat served with locally sourced organic produce, a good time is to be had by all.
