Summer 2020 has quite a different feel than summers past. Due to COVID-19, many outdoor events like the Park Silly Sunday Market have been cancelled, putting an end to the outdoor food and entertainment scene that we have all grown to love. Fresh produce, baked goods and flowers, sampling food vendors, and supporting local artists is what a summer market is all about.
Although there is no way to host such an event during these unprecedented times, Park City Peaks Hotel and Versante Hearth and Bar are working to create a safe space for community members to still enjoy live music, local art and good food outdoors.
Together they have created Versante on the Lawn, a one acre lot that sits adjacent to the hotel designed for safe picnic style dinning and outdoor activities.

Everything we love about our mountain town has been put on hold. We are trying to find a bridge back to normal and figure out what that looks like.

Versante on the lawn made its debut on Saturday, June 27. The lawn is divided into two sections. One side provides a space where patrons can sit at picnic tables and enjoy a meal outdoors with paper plates and plastic utensils. Once seated, servers will be available to take drink and food orders from the Versante Hearth and Bar classic Italian/American menu. All food orders will be packaged to-go and delivered to the table.
We were looking for more of an experience than just getting takeout and going home.

The other side of the lawn will provide live music and local small business rotating vendors selling jewelry, artwork, pastries, coffee, and more. The lawn will be spray painted with “social circles” every six feet in order to maintain social distancing between groups that arrive together.
The “COVID creative” idea is not intended to replicate or replace the Park Silly Sunday Market, but it is a way for the restaurant to give back to a community that helped them stay open during such a difficult time.
This isn’t going to be a Park Silly event as we know it. We are creating that safe environment for people to enjoy their food and enjoy their time outside. Are locals have really kept us alive through take-out during this time, a time that we thought we may have to shut down.”
Versante Hearth and Bar General Manager Tony Coontz
Versante on the Lawn will provide a full music lineup and vendors through September 20, weather permitting. Seating will be limited so it is advised that you visit yelp.com to reserve a table or to be placed on a waitlist. Lawn tables and the music and booths will be available from 3 to 8 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday and outdoor seating at Versante is also available from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.
We have this land so it’s time to give back and do something unique with it.
