Gather at the Junction: New Cookbook Club Connects Food Lovers in Park City

Heads up, Park City foodies: Linda Elbert, chef and founder of Mindful Cuisine, and Suni Woolstenhulme from Oil & Vinegar Junction, have teamed up to create Gather at the Junction, a book club designed for people who love to cook (and eat!).

This isn’t your typical book club. At each meeting, Linda and Sunni will announce a new cookbook that members will cook from over six weeks. Members can join a private Facebook group, where they can post photos and comments about the recipes they’ve tried.

When members gather at the Junction in person, each will bring a dish they’ve made from the cookbook, discuss their thoughts about the cuisine and bond over their shared love of food.

The idea stemmed from the Food52 cookbook club, Linda told us. Today, the Food52 club has grown in size and scope to 27,000 members. The Park City version may be smaller, but will also allow members to meet people in their local community who love to cook.

“While the primary reason of the club is to enhance our cooking knowledge, we’re also doing it for the community,” Linda and Suni explain. “We’re creating a space for us to gather together, explore and learn. Food is so much better when it’s shared!”

The inaugural event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Oil & Vinegar Junction. (Click here to register!) The first cookbook that they’ll discuss is The Ultimate Mediterranean Diet Cookbook — perfect for kicking off the year on a healthy note. Bonus: you can get your own copy of the cookbook for 20 percent off at Oil & Vinegar Junction.
