New: Waldorf Debuts “Frostoria” Experience

One of the most common questions we get asked at Dishing is, “What is fun and new in town I need to try?” These people often have frequented Park City destinations multiple times over or are travelers looking for unique experiences. Waldorf Astoria Park City recently debuted one of these experiences and it looks like it provides a winter festivity not to be forgotten.

“Frostoria” is an evening in a heated faux igloo where guests enjoy an “outdoor living room” experience while being waited on by Waldorf staff and cuisine from Powder Restaurant. Each igloo fits up to six guests and is decorated with cozy blankets, lounge chairs and even a chandelier for a lavish, comfortable vibe.  The igloo is clear, allowing guests to enjoy the snow and alpine glow.

Sip on Waldorf’s handcrafted cocktails, wine or champagne and savor the family style menu with starters to share and prix fix items. Some cuisine offerings include: hot mulled wine, local charcuterie and wild mushroom risotto with black truffle. Find the full menu here.

Frostoria is available daily from 4 – 8 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 435- 647-5566 and are required at least 24 hours in advance.

“This meal is an authentic Austrian-style dining experience, with highly attentive service in a sublime, private setting.  Our menu featured mushroom risotto, Hungarian goulash, Austrian spaetzle and tiramisu, alongside carefully selected beverage pairings.  This was one of the most unique and stylish meals I have had in the region and it is delivered in truly chic setting that is ideal for small groups, from a couple all the way up to 6 people per ‘igloo.’  This is, frankly, one dining experience I will never forget, given the rare setting and authentic culinary approach designed by Executive Chef Hermann Schaefer.”
