Watch for the release of Old Town Cellars‘ new Superior Blend, a delicious melding of syrah, merlot and tempranillo, perfect for warming up on those chilly Fall nights. The new blend will be available only at Old Town Cellar’s storefront location at 408 Main Street. Old Town Cellars is “the official wine of après!”

Moet Hennessey Exclusive Series at The Lodge at Blue Sky

The Lodge at Blue Sky will be presenting their exclusive Moet Hennessey series, October 14 through 16, with several can’t-miss events at the breathtaking Wanship property dedicated to providing a luxurious, wellness-focused experience. The weekend itinerary will begin with the Ruinart art stroll on Friday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the resort’s Living Room. Guests will be treated to tastings of Ruinart Rosé and Ruinart Blanc De Blancs, and will also get a chance to meet artist Patrick Brooks Brandenburg, an award-winning landscape photographer of the American west.

On Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm, registered participants are invited to the Garden Gastronomy Brunch with La Grande Dam at the Broadfork Barn at The Lodge at Blue Sky’s own Gracie’s Farm. There will be an informative talk given by Director of Farming Lynsey Gammon, about soil integrity and farm-to-table intention, followed by a locally and sustainably sourced brunch designed to pair well with Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dam champagne.

Sunsets and Stargazing with Dom Pérignon will be held on Saturday, beginning with a sunset reception from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a special paired tasting menu aptly titled the Dark Harmony Dinner from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and completed by stargazing with Dark Ranger Astronomy at 8:30 p.m. at the mountaintop yurt. Utah is a uniquely special place to view the night sky, because of the high elevation and the absence of light pollution.

The final event of the enriching weekend will be an evening with Krug Champagne on Sunday, in the Wasatch Wine Room from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be a three-course dinner and culinary demonstration, as well as pairings with Krug Champagne.

Also At The Lodge At Blue Sky… Halloween Events!

Looking forward, the Lodge at Blue Sky will also host various activities during the Halloween weekend. On Friday, October 26 from 5 to 7 p.m., also in the Living Room, will be Meet the Maker Sip and Shop with Scents of Wood Founder Fabrice Cruise. On Saturday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 3 p.m. there will be a Family Pumpkin Painting on the Yuta Terrace. Also on the 29th, there will be Spooky Sips and Spirits in the Yuta restaurant lounge from 5 to 8 p.m.

KITA, the elegant Japanese restaurant in The Pendry Hotel, will be presenting a fall tasting menu with optional wine or sake pairings. The seven courses will include gastronomic explorations like Wagyu beef tataki, scallop bataki nigiri, miso sake halibut and a strawberry pavlova to finish. There are wines from the Loire Valley of France, Portugal and the Napa Valley. Sakes to try have intriguing names like Rihaku Dreamy Clouds and Wandering Poet.

The Lakehouse At Deer Creek To Present A Hunter’s Gathering Prix Fixe Dinner

On October 27th at 6:00 p.m., The Lakehouse At Deer Creek‘s Chef Tamara Stanger will present a special six-course prix fixe dinner, with five carefully selected limited-order wine pairings. The theme is The Hunt, so local game meats and seasonal “Heritage Cuisine” Utah ingredients will be featured. Menu items to look forward to include a Roasted Game Fowl Tostada with heirloom corn, native beans and a crab apple kimchi; a German-Style Antelope Meatball with creamed lobster, mushroom and fresh dill; Timpanogas Trout Pasta; Juniper-Rubbed Elk Saddle Chop and lastly, a Crowberry Custard Pie with a Utah blue corn crust. This one-of-a-kind culinary experience is $120.00 per guest. Seating for the exclusive event is limited, and tickets will sell out fast, so reserve yours here.
