Dine Amongst the Fall Foliage

The days are getting shorter and the mountains surrounding Park City look like a sea of gold.

It’s simply the perfect time to get out and grab a meal as close to the autumn colors as possible before the leaves start to fall. Check out our recommendations below.

Stein Eriksen Lodge

Dining at Stein Eriksen Lodge puts you right in the line of fire – fire-colored leaves, that is! Start your trek with a cozy lunch at Troll Hallen Lounge. Their bacon grilled cheese and tomato soup will set you straight for a perfect autumn afternoon, packed with the world-famous Stein’s bacon and jalapeño jam. Looking for something lighter? Go for the ahi power bowl salad – filled with Hawaiian tuna, power greens, and veggies, and drizzled with an avocado vinaigrette. Once you’ve had your fill, we recommend riding the on-site Silver Lake Express lift to Silver Lake Village and walking up the Silver Lake Trail. Continue onto the Ontario Trail for a five-mile loop with spectacular scenery.

Edge Steakhouse

Checking out the sights near Canyons Resort? Edge Steakhouse is the perfect nightcap for a day of hunting for fall foliage. Take the guesswork out by taking their famous tasting menu for a spin. For $85, you’ll pick from a range of small bites, first courses, entrees and desserts prepared by award-winning chef Wayne Christian and his team. Think truffled deviled eggs, corn bisque, Snake River Farms steak and creme brûlée. We can’t think of a better fall evening than that.

Blue Boar Inn

Driving the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway is perhaps the most stunning way to take in all that Northern Utah has to offer in October. The views are known to be electrifying at every turn. If you’re planning to start the drive in Heber Valley, we recommend grabbing some lunch at Blue Boar Inn in Midway on your way. The short rib dip sandwich and bavarian sourdough pretzel will keep you fueled for the 47-mile winding drive through gold-tinged Aspen trees and mountain views.
