Queen of Brunch Cocktails: Bloody Mary Round-Up

Oh, the bloody mary! This vodka-soaked, nutritional breakfast and hangover cure all-in-one is ubiquitous with brunch, and hair of the dog has spawned countless variations. A bloody mary, at its essence, is built of tomato juice and vodka. Add in some citrus, spices, maybe heavy on the hot sauce or horseradish, and a specialty garnish or two or three, and voila you’ve got yourself the queen of all brunch cocktails.

We’ve rounded up five of our favorite Park City bloody marys that we think are beyond basic, taste fresh, have potential for spiciness and are complex all at once.

The Bridge Café and Grill

At the Bridge Café and Grill you can find a delicious, traditional and even a little bit spicy version of the bloody mary. Brunch isn’t complete without one of these cocktails! They make theirs with vodka, tomato juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, spices and garnish it with lemon and olives. You can also add bacon, which is always a good idea!

Park City Provisions by Riverhorse

Park City Provisions is your perfect one-stop-shop for food, drinks and specialty market noshes. Pop in for brunch and try their huevos rancheros: two eggs topped with pulled pork, black beans, tomatillo salsa, shredded lettuce, cilantro cream, pico de gallo and cheddar cheese. Pair it with their delicious bloody mary that’s full of house-pickled vegetables and bacon.

Tupelo

Tupelo is a brunch hot spot and has elevated the bloody mary experience by putting diners in control of their bloody mary destiny during their Sunday brunch, served 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Patrons are served an unadorned glass of tomato juice and vodka for $12 and are then led to an expansive bloody mary bar. From there it’s a choose your own adventure scenario! Their bloody mary bar features a variety of house-made pickled vegetables, stuffed olives, applewood smoked bacon and almost two dozen hot sauces!

Twisted Fern

Twisted Fern not only serves a traditional bloody mary during their Saturday and Sunday brunch services, but also offers another flavorful option: a beet and ginger bloody. The bright purple concoction is a mixture of traditional bloody mary mix with an added kick of fresh beets and ginger juiced in.

St. Regis Deer Valley

One of Park City’s most notorious Bloodys is at St. Regis and his called the 7452 Mary for bar’s  elevation. Made with High West Distillery 7000 Vodka and topped with a wasabi celery espuma, put this on your list of must-trys.

Wasatch Brew Pub (Sugarhouse)

Wasatch Brewery offers up a bloody mary bar at their Sugarhouse location that is a big hit among the 21 + crowd. Make your own bloody mary with options like pickles, horseradish and more! They may not have a bloody mary bar at their Park City location, but that doesn’t mean they don’t support your choice of ordering your brunch drink of choice.

Bonus: Versante Hearth + Bar offers a bloody mary bar during football season. So even though the regular season may be over (and so is their bloody mary bar), keep this little nugget in the back of your mind for future reference.
