When it comes to embarking on a day filled with outdoor activities, proper nourishment is key!
In our ongoing pre-fuel and refuel blog series, you can join us for a full day of activity where we start and end with delicious bites that perfectly complement a big excursion in Park City. You can even recreate our outing for yourself, just in time for Labor Day Weekend!
Starting with a bang at Drafts Burger Bar
We kicked off the day with a hearty breakfast at Drafts Burger Bar, located in Canyons Village. On weekends, Drafts offers a breakfast that sets the tone for an adventure-packed day. Indulge in delights like our favorite, the Vote for Pedro, featuring a chile relleno, avocado, pico de gallo, jalapeño and two eggs any style. If you’re craving something sweet, we love Long Live the King, which are banana and bacon-stuffed pancakes topped with banana brûlée and crisp bacon.
With our stomachs satisfied, we made our way to Park City Mountain’s Red Pine Gondola. We took advantage of a ride up and headed over to the Mid Mountain trail, where we set off on a 12-mile hike. We traversed from the Canyons side of the resort to the Park City side and were able to take our time enjoying the scenery of the mountains and town below us as we made our way across.
Mid-Hike Snacking with Deelicious Café
Halfway through the hike, we paused to refuel with snacks packed from Deelicious Café. We picked up a couple of their pre-made hand pies which vary in flavor each day. These are the perfect trail lunch, with a whole meal packed into a dee-liciously easy to hold vessel. For something on the sweet side, indulged on their fresh raspberry oatmeal crumble bars and a brown butter toffee chocolate chip cookie to keep going until dinner. After snacking, we resumed our hike and continued towards our destination at the top of the Town Lift on the Park City side of the resort.
Capping it off with dinner at Bangkok Thai on Main
For a well-deserved dinner, we downloaded Town Lift and headed to Bangkok Thai on Main. The restaurant’s outdoor dining deck offered a picturesque backdrop that rounded out our day outdoors. From classics like their all-you-can-eat pad Thai to a favorite dish, the northern Thai curry noodle soup with braised chicken, their menu offers a perfect variety. We also love their new additions to the restaurant: a Thai tapas menu and an oyster bar.
So, there you have it – a day perfectly balanced between outdoor exploration and the joy of gourmet indulgence. From an extravagant breakfast at Drafts Burger Bar to a rewarding dinner at Bangkok Thai on Main, the meals kept us fueled, satisfied and ready for our days adventure.
