Resort Spotlight: Park City Mountain

Park City Mountain is the most centrally located ski resort in town, with a bevy of activities available and plenty of dining options just a short distance away. Enjoy the snow on the hill, or ice skating at the outdoor rink. Your Epic Pass is honored at Park City Mountain and the ski resort is easily accessible by public transit. Here are some easy dining options nearby to try:

710 Bodega

At the base of Historic Park City Main Street, 710 Bodega is a delightful spot to enjoy tapas accompanied by an extensive wine list. Fantastic plates to sample after a day on the mountain include the fried brie bites with quince dipping sauce, spinach salad with apple and Manchego cheese, patatas bravas in spicy tomato sauce, calamari with spicy aioli and Australian lamb chops with chimichurri. To accompany your après feast, try a specialty cocktail like the Mountain Manhattan or a steaming Spanish coffee. There is also a lengthy wine list which includes bottles from Spain, France and New Zealand, beers, liqueurs and spirits.

High West / The Nelson Cottage

It’s no secret that High West Distillery whiskey is famous far and wide. Easily accessible in Old Town, you can find High West Saloon, an après ski favorite, and The Nelson Cottage next door. Warm up at the Saloon with a seasonal cocktail like the Golden Label with ancho chili and drinking chocolate, as well as High West Bourbon. Share a steaming fondue pot with your skiing buddies, or try the trout chowder. For a more unique, intimate experience, make a reservation at The Nelson Cottage for a prix-fixe dinner, featuring local and seasonal ingredients, and, of course, optional whiskey pairings. Ask about The Nelson Cottage’s après experience, too!

A little further up on Main Street, The Cabin is a Park City mainstay, with a casual vibe and satisfying menu, featuring burgers, tacos, nachos and old fashioned beef stew. There are two levels of fun, regular live music and a vibrant event calendar. The Cabin is known to be one of the most beloved local joints in Park City.

There are also half pound burgers, colossal yard bird wings and beer-battered onion rings. For artisan small plates and elegant glasses, check out the adjacent Wine Dive.

Tupelo

For something a little finer after a day on the mountain, Tupelo offers globally-inspired cuisine made with the highest quality local ingredients. There is a local elk filet, roasted Idaho trout with duck fat potatoes and – perfect for vegetarians – spiced chickpeas with local mushrooms, sautéed greens, broccolini and roasted peppers. Don’t skip the house-made buttermilk biscuits with honey butter! Add a Tupelo old fashioned or Best In Jazz cocktail (High West Double Rye whiskey, bénédictine, sweet vermouth and absinthe) for a perfect evening.
