The Ultimate Park City Day Off… the Mountain

We all know that one of the biggest draws of visiting Park City is the skiing. However, even the most seasoned skiers need a day off the hill every now and then. We have complied the perfect day off the hill, while still enjoying the many splendors the area has to offer.

Leisurely Breakfast

Since you’re not in a rush to get first chair, why not start the day off with a leisurely breakfast. Our favorites include a visit to Deer Valley Café and an order of their perfectly curated lox and bagel plate. Or head over to main street and take in the views at The Bridge Café and Grill with a Burrinho (breakfast burrito with a Brazilian twist) in hand. You could also get your fresh squeezed juice, locally roasted coffee, and breakfast fix at Harvest. You’ll never go wrong when ordering one of their “bowls.”

Take in the Scenery

After breakfast, head to Silver Star Ski and Sport and pick up snowshoe rentals. This activity is a fun way to still get outside, but not go through the full production of a ski equipment. Plus, you can wear the ski gear you already have. If you don’t have the gear you need however, you can find all the goods you might want right at the shop. And the hat selection here is on point if you need a small souvenir.

We recommend taking the snowshoes and heading to one of two locations. One is Mountain Trails Foundation maintained trail, PC Hill, where you can take in all the views of town with the benefit of plentiful and convenient parking. Or if you want to tie in a foodie element to the mix, you can head to Gap and Finns trail segment that starts at the base of the St. Regis Deer Valley funicular. Once you snowshoe up to the hotel you can reward yourself with a tasty beverage and snack on the Mountain Terrace, then catch a ride back down in the funicular.

Get Sweaty

If you feel like you still haven’t filled your activity bucket for the day, or you want to stretch out sore limbs, then make your way over to PC Yoga Collective in Kimball Junction. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned yogi, PCYC welcomes all skill levels. PCYC has mats available for use at the studio, plus showers with fully-stocked amenities to rinse off and continue on for the day.
