There’s a new delicious partnership on Main Street. Old Town Cellars and Freshies Lobster Co. have joined forces to bring lovers of lobster to the new Old Town Cellars location every Thursday through the end of ski season (check Freshie’s Instagram stories and Facebook page to make sure the event will be going on, as other obligations do tend to pop up)
The idea came about after Old Town Cellars’ first three years down on lower Main Street. This location was also right where you could find Lorin and Ben Smaha’s Freshies Food Truck during the Park Silly Sunday Market. It was a natural fit for both businesses to support each other and bring two local favorites together.
Lorin, co-owner of Freshies, really loves the intimacy of Old Town Cellars’ new space and how it gives locals an attractive casual space, almost like a secret lair, on Main Street to get away from the hustle and bustle. It’s a prime spot to chill with some delicious, not too fancy, easy-going food. At this special weekly pairing, they are currently serving lobster rolls with chips, but the menu may expand as they see more success with this pairing.
Speaking of pairing, Stephen MacKay, co-founder of Old Town Cellars, says the Townie Rosé is a perfect accompaniment to the roll. The mouthwatering acidity cuts through the fat in the lobster, with subtle ripe stone fruit notes to complement the mayo and butter.
Freshies brought the East Coast flair to the mountains and have made their lobster roll a staple of Park City, while Old Town Cellars has crafted affordable and approachable wines for all of us to enjoy. You can really taste and feel the synergy between these two local Utah companies that blossomed from a friendship into a collaboration with their commitment of supporting each other and that mountain town lifestyle.
