A Whole Foods Holiday

It’s undeniable that Whole Foods Market is one of the best grocery stores to go get lost in. It’s almost impossible to walk in there and buy just that one item you needed because you will almost always walk out with something else. We’re all guilty of it, me included. The people, the unique products, the displays, the convenience, the amazing smells, the list of what makes Whole Foods so great goes on and on. We in Park City are very fortunate to have such a great one that is staffed with truly talented, passionate and local people. Take their chefs, for example. These guys are a lot more than just those friendly faces making all of our favorite grab and go lunches. Their team has some serious roots in Park City, and trust me when I say they definitely know what they’re doing in the kitchen.

The holidays at Whole Foods are a special time for this small team of chefs because the large holiday menu that is offered is really just a base. “As great as our holiday menu is, it’s really just a jumping off point. Our chefs love being challenged and love the ability to get creative. We completely encourage our buyers to ask for other things that they may not see on the menu,” says Travis Harnkess, Whole Foods marketing specialist.FullSizeRender (5)

This year, the starting off point menu is not just big, it’s really big.  Their appetizer options alone have more than 25 items including an Spanish, American and artisan cheese boards, bruschetta builder (choice of three different kinds), Sriracha chicken won ton platter, mini kale cake platter, you get the picture.  From there, there’s a full turkey menu, a meat and poultry menu, sides and salads, seafood and desserts. They really have it all, and like he said, get creative with it!

Aside from their endless possibilities from the holiday menu, Whole Foods is also currently carrying some unique products that can only be found at the Park City location.

They include:

Satsuma stem and leaf tangerines from California. Incredibly juicy and so beautiful in a bowl as a centerpiece addition.

An assortment of peach-smoked salmons, all smoked at Eagle Smoked Salmon in Eagle, Colorado. Flavors include peppered, plain and dill.  Serve this on crackers, and you are set for an hors d’oeuvre.
