As the new year begins, nearly half of Americans resolve to improve their health and get in better shape, according to one survey. If this sounds like you, why not make 2019 the year you actually achieve your health and wellness goals?
Luckily, plenty of local businesses in Park City are ready and willing to make your health journey a little easier this year. Below we’ve listed our favorite spots to find products and services to help you get healthy, including healthy dishes, convenient, grab-and-go meals, fitness classes and outdoor gear.
Eat Well When You Eat Out
The Australian-influenced eatery proves “healthy” can equal “delicious” with options such as smoothie bowls, chia seed pudding, hearty salads, avocado toast and more. (Here’s what we’re loving at Five5eeds lately.)
For lunch and dinner daily, chef Adam Ross serves creative dishes with an emphasis on real food, locally sourced from plants and animals. A fresh and delicious salad is featured in the header image above.
A brewery may not sound like the healthiest option, but we are big fans of the large, leafy salads you can order here. Top your salad with a protein like chicken, salmon or steak for a filling lunch or dinner.
This locally owned community market features a dine-in or take-out restaurant with organic vegan soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as an organic juice bar and selection of vitamins, herbs and supplements.
Pick Up Healthy Meals
On a chilly winter night, nothing warms you up like a bowl of hot soup. Every month, Chef Dee prepares a variety of fresh and healthy soups that you can order for delivery right to your door.
Element’s kitchen and bakery offer a variety of freshly prepared meals and baked goods, so you can stock your fridge with tons of healthy, tasty options for lunch and dinner, without making much of an effort.
Located at the top of Main Street, this restaurant-slash-café offers pre-made meals to-go as well as freshly prepared healthy options for breakfast and lunch like salads, sandwiches and soups. P.S. They’re now open for dinner with an all-new menu!
Learn New Cooking Skills
Mindful Cuisine’s creative cooking classes provide a great way to gain new kitchen skills as well as healthy dinner ideas. Join one of the scheduled group classes (upcoming topics include soup and high-altitude baking) or schedule a private class.
The Main Street shop hosts weekly tasting classes, called the Next Course. Chefs share new and different ways to use oils and vinegars in a variety of recipes. Upcoming health-centric topics include the Mediterranean Diet and Meatless Meals.
Head to White Pine’s Nordic Center, located in Hotel Park City, to rent cross-country ski gear. New to the sport? Take a lesson or join in a group clinic, offered daily.
Whether you need to get your skis or snowboard tuned or could use brand-new gear, this shop has what you need. Silver Star’s staffers have extensive knowledge in a wide range of winter sports to ensure you’re expertly equipped. (Todd Fisher, the owner, also moonlights as @ParkCityFoodie on Instagram — read more about him here.)
This local business will help you tune up your body and mind. Choose from services such as massage, reflexology, energy healing and more — staffers can come to your home or business.
