Check out some of our favorite picks.
Homemade Gelato at Spin Cafe
Ever heard of a gelateria? I hadn’t either until I visited Spin Cafe in Heber City: a restaurant that is equal parts scratch-made food and an in-house gelato shop. Owner-operators Vincent and Joline Esposito are no strangers to Italy’s version of ice cream, having opened their first Italian restaurant back in 1990. Each day at Spin Cafe, the team create thick, velvety gelato from scratch and in small batches. The cafe offers twelve flavors that vary, featuring ingredients like Belgian chocolate, Madagascar vanilla beans and smoked almonds. Whether you order it by the cup, in a float, or on top of a fresh-baked fruit cobbler, don’t miss a visit to this fresh and friendly shop on Main Street.
Classic Shakes at Dairy Keen
Sometimes you just need a classic, diner-style ice cream shake. Voted ‘Best Shake’ in the state of Utah 17 times, Dairy Keen always delivers and is perfect for picky eaters. Visitors can order shakes in three sizes and in a thick or thin consistency. (You know, thick for eating with a spoon and thin for drinking through a straw.) From orange dreamsicle and banana cream pie to cake batter and chocolate chip, shakes come in over 30 flavors – truly something for everyone in your crew.
My vote? S’mores for a taste of campfire dessert.
Sweet Smoothies at Mountain Wellness Bar
Life is all about balance and with smoothies at Mountain Wellness Bar you can curb your sweet tooth while getting in a protein-packed snack. As the only cafe of its kind in Heber City, they offer smoothies like the P&B smoothie, packed with banana, dates, oats, peanut butter and vegan protein powder, and the Exotico smoothie, a tropical blast of fruit, spinach, coconut milk and protein powder. Bringing your kids along? Check out the Kiddo smoothie, a yummy blend of strawberries, bananas, almond butter and more.
Next time you visit Heber Valley and your elusive sweet tooth strikes, you’ll know just where to go!
