Tacos With a Twist Served at Vessel Kitchen

Whether it’s taco Tuesday or any other day of the week, head to Vessel Kitchen (now located in Midvale, Salt Lake and Park City), for a one-of-a-kind taco experience. Founded by Nick Gradinger, Roe’e Levey and Brian Reeder in 2016, Vessel Kitchen offers healthy and healthy-ish comfort food made with flavors from around the world. In January 2021, Vessel Kitchen launched their build-your-own naan flatbread taco bar.

I’m from San Diego so I grew up around tacos, and Roe’e is Israeli. Naan bread is a cool little twist to a traditional taco. We tried to create something still on the healthiest end of the spectrum. And in sticking with Vessel’s flavors from around the world theme, this was something that we’ve always wanted to try to execute.

Vessel Kitchen has options for everyone no matter what path you’re on. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, or you’re following a specific dietary plan like keto, paleo, or Whole 30, or just following your heart. And if your heart loves tacos, Vessel’s flatbread tacos are served on a warm naan flatbread with Israeli slaw.

Choose from falafel and hummus, braised beef, shredded chicken, pulled pork, or sliced Bavette steak for protein, add your favorite toppings, like pickled onions, fire roasted peppers, tomatillo apple salsa, or mango slaw. And finish it off with Vessel’s house-made sauces, including horseradish feta crema, Fresno aioli, spicy house green, spiced tahini, or spicy fresno chili.

We wanted to offer something that’s a little more approachable. A create your own kind of experience. There are a zillion choices of tacos. You are choosing your own adventure. A billowy warm naan bread is such a great vehicle for the taco. You get a little more substance, and the light, airy, fluffy, bread holds everything together.
