What’s happening in Park City this long weekend?!?
Some say that Labor Day weekend is the final hurrah of summer before the weather begins to change. Most use it as an excuse to be outside, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy all the offerings from our favorite restaurants and resorts. Here are some of the goings-on in Park City to help you make plans:
Lucky Ones Coffee: Music on the Patio
Saturday and Sunday, Lucky Ones Coffee with the Park City Library and Mountain Town Music, will hosts Music on the Patio. These are free, family-friendly concerts to enjoy alongside some Lucky Ones provisions, or bring a picnic and spread out on the lawn. Saturday, Daniel Young will be playing his “bleary blend of country, folk, and rock & roll.” Followed by Classic Steve playing acoustic guitar blues, classic rock, and country.
Stein Eriksen Lodge: Red & Blue Labor Day Weekend Tailgate Party
Saturday, Sept. 3, wind down the summer season and kick off football season with the U of U & BYU season-opening games. The Odin Deck in the lodge will be open from 2 to 6:30 p.m. for an evening of tailgating with a Stein Eriksen spin. Games will also be on in the Mountain Lodge lobby, Troll Hallen Lounge and the Champions Club. Enjoy table snacks, tailgate-style food stations, nonalcoholic beverages, dirty soda stations, and all afternoon long lawn games and kids’ activities for $58 per person.
Silver Star Cafe: Live Music
Labor Day weekend is all about live music. Silver Star Cafe has live music by Triggers and Slips on Friday, and on Saturday, Turtle Dovin’ will perform. Live music at Silver Star Cafe begins around 7:30 and runs until 10 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
Main Street: Miners’ Day Parade
On Monday the annual Miners’ Day Parade begins at 11 a.m directly after the Running of the Balls fundraiser down Main Street. You can purchase balls or ball numbers for a chance to win tons of prizes from local sponsors and donors. Here is the event schedule for the day;
- 7:30-9:30 a.m. – Miners’ Day Breakfast, City Park
- 8:00 a.m. – Miners’ Day Bark City 5k Run, City Park (bring your dog)
- 10:30 a.m. – Running of the Balls, Main Street (get there early to buy balls or buy in advance online)
- 11:00 a.m. – Miners’ Day Parade, Main Street
- 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. – Food Trucks & Beer/ Liquor Garden, , City Park
- 11:45 a.m.-4:00 p.m.– Music in the Park, City Park Stage
- 12:30-1:00 p.m. – Kids Games, City Park
- 12:30-3:00 p.m. – Mining Demonstrations, City Park (across from library on Park Ave.)
- 2:00-4:00 p.m. – History tours of Miners’ Hospital
Versante Hearth and Bar: Last Weekend to Enjoy the Lawn
Labor Day Weekend is the final weekend to enjoy wood-fired craft pizzas on The Lawn at Versante. The Lawn is a favorite local and family-friendly spot only available to enjoy during the summer months. Bring the kids or invite some friends to say farewell to The Lawn with craft cocktails, pastas and seasonal entrees.
Flanagan’s On Main: Euro-Latino night and Karaoke
Euro-Latino night will be held on Friday night from 9 p.m to 1 a.m. at Flanagan’s On Main with a DJ playing euro and latino hits. Have your pipes ready for karaoke at Flanagan’s Saturday night from 9 p.m to 1 a.m.
